    Vizzu

    Vizzu

Library for animated data visualizations and data stories

Vizzu is a free, open-source Javascript/C++ library utilizing a generic dataviz engine that generates many types of charts and seamlessly animates between them. It can be used to create static charts but more importantly, it is designed for building animated data stories and interactive explorers as Vizzu enables showing different perspectives of the data that the viewers can easily follow due to the animation. Create a placeholder element that will contain the rendered chart. The Vizzu constructor has to load Vizzu's WebAssembly module asynchronously to prevent blocking the whole page. Because of this, any method except animate() will throw an exception while the library is not initialized. There is an initializing promise in the Vizzu class, which will resolve when initialization is finished. You can call all methods after this promise is resolved.

    deck.gl

    deck.gl

    WebGL2 powered visualization framework

deck.gl is designed to simplify high-performance, WebGL-based visualization of large data sets. Users can quickly get impressive visual results with minimal effort by composing existing layers, or leveraging deck.gl's extensible architecture to address customer needs. deck.gl maps data (usually an array of JSON objects) into a stack of visual layers - e.g. icons, polygons, texts; and look at them with views: e.g. map, first-person, orthographic. deck.gl handles a number of challenges out of the box. Deck.gl is designed to be highly customizable. All layers come with flexible APIs to allow programmatic control of each aspect of the rendering. All core classes such are easily extendable by the users to address custom use cases. deck.gl is part of vis.gl, an OpenJS Foundation project. Read the contribution guidelines if you are interested in contributing.

    FossFLOW

    FossFLOW

    Make beautiful isometric infrastructure diagrams

FossFLOW is an open-source Progressive Web App for creating visually rich isometric infrastructure and network diagrams directly in the browser. Built with React and the Isoflow library, the application provides a specialized environment for producing 2.5D technical diagrams that are especially useful for DevOps and architecture documentation. The project is structured as a monorepo containing both a reusable React component library and the full web application wrapper. Because it runs fully client-side with offline support, users can design diagrams without sending data to external servers. FossFLOW focuses on usability through drag-and-drop components, connector tools, and automatic saving capabilities. Overall, it serves engineers and technical teams who want a modern, open alternative to traditional diagramming tools with a strong visual infrastructure focus.

    JLD.jl

    JLD.jl

Saving and loading julia variables while preserving native types

JLD, for which files conventionally have the extension .jld, is a widely used format for data storage with the Julia programming language. JLD is a specific "dialect" of HDF5, a cross-platform, multi-language data storage format most frequently used for scientific data. By comparison with "plain" HDF5, JLD files automatically add attributes and naming conventions to preserve type information for each object. For lossless storage of arbitrary Julia objects, the only other complete solution appears to be Julia's serializer, which can be accessed via the serialize and deserialize commands. However, because the serializer is also used for inter-process communication, long-term backward compatibility is currently uncertain. (The JLDArchives repository exists to test the compatibility of older JLD file formats.) If you choose to save data using the serializer, please use the file extension .jls to distinguish the files from .jld files.

    folium

    folium

    Python data, Leaflet.js maps

folium builds on the data wrangling strengths of the Python ecosystem and the mapping strengths of the leaflet.js library. Manipulate your data in Python, then visualize it in on a Leaflet map via folium. folium makes it easy to visualize data that’s been manipulated in Python on an interactive leaflet map. It enables both the binding of data to a map for choropleth visualizations as well as passing rich vector/raster/HTML visualizations as markers on the map. The library has a number of built-in tilesets from OpenStreetMap, Mapbox, and Stamen, and supports custom tilesets with Mapbox or Cloudmade API keys. folium supports both Image, Video, GeoJSON and TopoJSON overlays. To create a base map, simply pass your starting coordinates to Folium. To display it in a Jupyter notebook, simply ask for the object representation. The default tiles are set to OpenStreetMap, but Stamen Terrain, Stamen Toner, Mapbox Bright, and Mapbox Control Room, and many others tiles are built in.

    just-dashboard

Dashboards using YAML or JSON files

Dashboards using YAML or JSON files. Create a public GitHub gist with a file named dashboard.yml or dashboard.json (depending on your preferred format) As your dashboard is just data, you can generate it instead of repeating yourself. You can do that by generating the YAML or JSON file yourself, or you can use jq queries in your YAML file. And one with a dashboard that contains a component that can fetch the data from other other gist and turn it into 3 different charts. Using the same principle, you can also loads parts from your dashboard from other files, or just JSON/CSV data for specific charts. Suppose you are only interested in comparing foods by how much they contain of a single macronutrient. However, you want to be able to decide which macronutrient.
