kubectl tree is a kubectl plugin that lets you visualize Kubernetes object hierarchies as a tree by following the ownerReferences set on API objects. Instead of manually chasing which ReplicaSet owns which Pods or which higher-level controller is responsible for a given resource, it prints an ASCII tree that shows parent-child relationships at a glance. This is especially useful for understanding how complex workloads like Deployments, StatefulSets, Knative Services, or Agones Fleets fan out into lower-level resources across the cluster. The plugin is written in Go, packaged for easy installation via the krew plugin manager, and exposes flags to control namespace scoping, label selectors, and condition filters so you can narrow what’s shown. It defaults to searching namespaced objects in the same namespace as the root resource, but can also traverse cluster-wide objects when asked. -

Plow is an HTTP(S) benchmarking tool, written in Golang. It uses excellent fast HTTP instead of Go's default net/http due to its lightning-fast performance. Plow runs at specified connections (option -c) concurrently and real-time records summary statistics, histogram of execution time and calculates percentiles to display on Web UI and terminal. It can run for a set duration( option -d), for a fixed number of requests(option -n), or until Ctrl-C is interrupted. The implementation of real-time computing Histograms and Quantiles using stream-based algorithms inspired by Prometheus with low memory and CPU bounds. so it's almost no additional performance overhead for benchmarking. -

ExternalDNS synchronizes exposed Kubernetes Services and Ingresses with DNS providers. Inspired by Kubernetes DNS, Kubernetes' cluster-internal DNS server, ExternalDNS makes Kubernetes resources discoverable via public DNS servers. Like KubeDNS, it retrieves a list of resources (Services, Ingresses, etc.) from the Kubernetes API to determine the desired list of DNS records. Unlike KubeDNS, however, it's not a DNS server itself, but merely configures other DNS providers accordingly, e.g. AWS Route 53 or Google Cloud DNS. In a broader sense, ExternalDNS allows you to control DNS records dynamically via Kubernetes resources in a DNS provider-agnostic way. ExternalDNS' allows you to keep selected zones (via domain-filter) synchronized with Ingresses and Services of type=LoadBalancer in various cloud providers. ExternalDNS can become aware of the records it is managing therefore ExternalDNS can safely manage non-empty hosted zones. -

flog is a fake log generator built in Go that produces realistic log entries in several common formats, including Apache common, Apache combined, Apache error, RFC3164, RFC5424, and JSON. It was created to help developers and operators test systems that consume log data, such as log pipelines, SIEMs, or streaming platforms like Amazon Kinesis. Users can control the output by specifying the log format, output file path, log type (stdout, plain log file, or gzip-compressed file), and either the number of lines or the total byte size of logs to generate. Additional options let you simulate timing behavior by configuring creation intervals and generation delays, as well as splitting output into multiple files based on line count or file size. The tool can run in a loop to continuously emit logs until terminated, making it suitable for soak testing or stress testing log ingestion services. -

GLBC is a GCE L7 load balancer controller that manages external loadbalancers configured through the Kubernetes Ingress API. Ingress exposes HTTP and HTTPS routes from outside the cluster to services within the cluster. Traffic routing is controlled by rules defined on the Ingress resource. An Ingress may be configured to give Services externally-reachable URLs, load balance traffic, terminate SSL / TLS, and offer name-based virtual hosting. An Ingress controller is responsible for fulfilling the Ingress, usually with a load balancer, though it may also configure your edge router or additional frontends to help handle the traffic. An Ingress needs apiVersion, kind, metadata and spec fields. The name of an Ingress object must be a valid DNS subdomain name. GoToSocial is an ActivityPub social network server, written in Golang. With GoToSocial, you can keep in touch with your friends, post, read, and share images and articles. All without being tracked or advertised to. It is already deployable and useable, and it federates cleanly with many other Fediverse servers (not yet all). However, many things are not yet implemented, and there are plenty of bugs! We left the alpha stage around September/October 2024, and we intend to exit beta sometime around 2026. GoToSocial provides a lightweight, customizable, and safety-focused entryway into the Fediverse, and is comparable to (but distinct from) existing projects such as Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, and PixelFed. If you've ever used something like Twitter or Tumblr (or even Myspace) GoToSocial will probably feel familiar to you: You can follow people and have followers, and you make posts that people can favorite and reply to, and share. -

Promxy
An aggregating proxy to enable HA prometheus
Promxy is a prometheus proxy that makes many shards of prometheus appear as a single API endpoint to the user. This significantly simplifies operations and use of prometheus at scale (when you have more than one prometheus host). Promxy delivers this unified access endpoint without requiring any sidecars, custom-builds, or other changes to your prometheus infrastructure. Prometheus itself provides no real HA/clustering support. As such the best-practice is to run multiple (e.g N) hosts with the same config. Similarly prometheus has no real built-in query federation, which means that you end up with N sources in grafana which is (1) confusing to grafana users and (2) has no support for aggregation across the sources. Promxy enables an HA prometheus setup by "merging" the data from the duplicate hosts (so if there is a gap in one, promxy will fill with the other). In addition Promxy provides a single datasource for all promql queries. -

One or more providers supply information about the requested server, requested URL, destination URL, and health check URL. It is distributed as a single binary or as a docker container. It creates human-readable code that only imports the cloud SDKs for services you use. This allows the Go CDK to grow to support any number of cloud services, without increasing compile times or binary sizes, and avoiding any side effects from init() functions. The Go CDK builds at the latest stable release of Go. Previous Go versions may compile but are not supported. -

Vulcain
Fast and idiomatic client-driven REST APIs
Vulcain is a brand new protocol using HTTP/2 Server Push to create fast and idiomatic client-driven REST APIs. An open-source gateway server that you can put on top of any existing web API to instantly turn it into a Vulcain-compatible one is also provided! It supports hypermedia APIs but also any "legacy" API by documenting its relations using OpenAPI. The protocol has been published as an Internet-Draft that is maintained in this repository. A reference, production-grade, implementation gateway server is also available in this repository. It's free software (AGPL) written in Go. A Docker image is provided. Current solutions for these problems (GraphQL, JSON:API's embedded resources and sparse fieldsets, etc.) are smart network hacks for HTTP/1. But these hacks come with (too) many drawbacks when it comes to HTTP cache, logs and even security. Fortunately, thanks to the new features introduced in HTTP/2, it's now possible to create true REST APIs fixing these problems with ease.
