Тapper — keyboard layout switcher for X Window System and Wayland. Tapper runs in background, when an assigned key is tapped, Tapper activates the corresponding keyboard layout. "Tap" means that a single key is pressed and quickly released, so (1) no other keys are pressed at this time, and (2) period between pressing and releasing is shorter than keyboard repeat delay (usually it is 0.5 s, but it depends on desktop settings). Tapper key feature is using modifier keys for switching keyboard layouts without losing modifier's functionality. Tapper works for GNOME, GNOME Classic, Cinnamon, i3, KDE, LXDE, LXQt, Mate, Ubuntu, Xfce desktops. There are prebult RPM packages for Fedora, Mageia, OpenMandriva, openSUSE, source tarball for configure && make is also available. Tapper is free software.

DistroClone Backup & Restore In the development of SysLinuxOS, one recurring need was a reliable way to snapshot and restore a system quickly — not just for users, but also during testing and ISO development. That is how DistroClone Backup & Restore was born: a graphical, incremental backup tool designed specifically for Debian-based systems. It is the companion utility to DistroClone Live ISO Builder, and both tools will ship together as part of the SysLinuxOS toolchain in upcoming releases. They are designed to work independently, but their real strength emerges when used together — something I will cover in a future article. A major feature update to KPDF the PDF reader for KDE. New features include user bookmarks (many per page) with highlighting and margin notes. KPDF has been retired as the team works on Occular but I couldn't wait that long. :) -bryan

Katapult is an application for KDE, written in C++, designed to allow faster access to applications, bookmarks, and other items. It is plugin-based, so it can launch anything that is has a plugin for. It was inspired by Quicksilver for OS X.

Kuery for MySQL is a program developed on RedHat 7.1/KDE 2.11/QT2.3.0 (i386) C++ using KDevelop. Its purpose is to offer a GUI for MySQL administration. The UI superficially resembles portions of Microsoft's Enterprise Manager for SQL Server.
