    DAR - Disk ARchive

    DAR - Disk ARchive

For full, incremental, compressed and encrypted backups or archives

DAR is a command-line backup and archiving tool that uses selective compression (not compressing already compressed files), strong encryption, may split an archive in different files of given size and provides on-fly hashing, supports differential backup with or without binary delta, ftp and sftp protocols to remote cloud storage Archive internal's catalog, allows very quick restoration even a single file from a huge, eventually sliced, compressed, encrypted archive eventually located on a remote cloud storage, by only reading/fetching the necessary data to perform the operation. Dar saves *all* UNIX inode types, takes care of hard links, sparse files as well as Extended Attributes (MacOS X file forks, Linux ACL, SELinux tags, user attributes) and some Filesystem Specific Attributes (Linux ext2/3/4, Mac OS X HFS+) more details at: http://dar.linux.free.fr/doc/Features.html

    Osquery

    Osquery

SQL operating system instrumentation and monitoring framework

Osquery is an operating system instrumentation framework for Windows, OS X (macOS), Linux, and FreeBSD. The tools make low-level operating system analytics and monitoring both performant and intuitive. Osquery exposes an operating system as a high-performance relational database. This allows you to write SQL queries to explore operating system data. With osquery, SQL tables represent abstract concepts such as running processes, loaded kernel modules, open network connections, browser plugins, hardware events or file hashes.Osquery queries your devices like a database. Osquery uses basic SQL commands to leverage a relational data-model to describe a device. Frequently, attackers will leave a malicious process running but delete the original binary on disk. This query returns any process whose original binary has been deleted, which could be an indicator of a suspicious process.

    ModSecurity

    ModSecurity

Cross platform web application firewall (WAF) engine for Apache

ModSecurity is an open-source, cross-platform web application firewall (WAF) engine for Apache, IIS and Nginx that is developed by Trustwave's SpiderLabs. It has a robust event-based programming language that provides protection from a range of attacks against web applications and allows for HTTP traffic monitoring, logging and real-time analysis. Libmodsecurity is one component of the ModSecurity v3 project. The library codebase serves as an interface to ModSecurity Connectors taking in web traffic and applying traditional ModSecurity processing. In general, it provides the capability to load/interpret rules written in the ModSecurity SecRules format and apply them to HTTP content provided by your application via Connectors. Before starting the compilation process, make sure that you have all the dependencies in place.

Ray Tracing in One Weekend Book Series

Ray Tracing in One Weekend Book Series

The Ray Tracing in One Weekend series of books

The Ray Tracing in One Weekend series of books are now available to the public for free online. They are now released under the CC0 license. This means that they are as close to public domain as we can get. (While that also frees you from the requirement of providing attribution, it would help the overall project if you could point back to this web site as a service to other users.) These books are formatted for printing directly from your browser, where you can also (on most browsers) save them as PDF. In Ray Tracing in One Weekend, you will build a simple brute-force path tracer. Continuing with Ray Tracing: The Next Week, you will add textures, volumes (like fog), rectangles, instances, lights, and support for lots of objects using a bounding volume hierarchy (BVH). Finally, with Ray Tracing: The Rest Of Your Life, we'll dive into the math of creating a very serious ray tracer.

    SSHTOOLS

    SSHTOOLS

    Java SSH API

This project now hosts the third-generation of Java SSH API, Maverick Synergy. This API builds on the Maverick Legacy commercial APIs and delivers a new API in a unified client/server framework. This API is available to the community under the LGPL open source license. This update includes ed25519 support, support for the new OpenSSH private key file format and stronger key exchange algorithms. The project continues to host both the original API and legacy applications created around it, however, these are now considered deprecated and we do not recommend their use in anyway.

    Al-Khaser

    Al-Khaser

Public malware techniques used in the wild: Virtual Machine, Emulation

al-khaser is an open-source proof-of-concept security tool that deliberately implements techniques commonly used by real-world malware to test and evaluate the effectiveness of antivirus and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems. It’s written in C/C++ and designed to execute a wide range of anti-analysis, anti-debugging, anti-virtualization, timing-based evasion, and sandbox detection routines so security researchers and defenders can see how well their tools detect or ignore these behaviors. The project includes checks for debugger presence, stealthy anti-dumping measures, various VM and sandbox artifacts, and process injection techniques, giving you a broad view of how defensive tools respond under stress. al-khaser isn’t malicious by intent — its purpose is to help security teams identify gaps in their detection logic and harden defenses by simulating evasive behaviors without actual payloads.

    Zeek

    Zeek

Zeek is a powerful network analysis framework

Zeek has a long history in the open source and digital security worlds. Vern Paxson began developing the project in the 1990s under the name “Bro” as a means to understand what was happening on his university and national laboratory networks. Vern and the project’s leadership team renamed Bro to Zeek in late 2018 to celebrate its expansion and continued development. Zeek is not an active security device, like a firewall or intrusion prevention system. Rather, Zeek sits on a “sensor,” a hardware, software, virtual, or cloud platform that quietly and unobtrusively observes network traffic. Zeek interprets what it sees and creates compact, high-fidelity transaction logs, file content, and fully customized output, suitable for manual review on disk or in a more analyst-friendly tool like a security and information event management (SIEM) system.

    BoringSSL

    BoringSSL

    Mirror of BoringSSL

BoringSSL is a Google-maintained fork of OpenSSL, designed specifically to meet the security, performance, and maintainability needs of Google’s infrastructure and products. While fully open source, BoringSSL is not intended for general public use — it serves as a streamlined, heavily modified SSL/TLS and cryptography library optimized for Google’s internal ecosystem, including Chrome/Chromium, Android, and other Google services. The project prioritizes security, simplicity, and maintainability over backward compatibility. Unlike OpenSSL, BoringSSL provides no guarantee of stable APIs or ABIs, meaning third-party projects depending on it may frequently break. Google products that use BoringSSL ship their own copies and update them as needed, enabling faster iteration without legacy constraints. BoringSSL includes comprehensive API documentation, build instructions, and guidance for porting code from OpenSSL.

    Qtum

    Qtum

    Qtum Core Wallet

Qtum is a decentralized blockchain project built on Bitcoin's UTXO model, with support for Ethereum Virtual Machine-based smart contracts, and secured by a proof of stake consensus model. It achieves this through the revolutionary Account Abstraction Layer which allows the EVM to communicate with Qtum's Bitcoin-like UTXO blockchain. Welcome to the Qtum Ignition Main Network. This is the main network where the tokens hold value and should be guarded very carefully. If you are testing the network or developing unstable software on Qtum, we highly recommend using either testnet or regtest mode. A Proof of Stake consensus system which is optimized for Qtum's contract model. Any user can stake and help to secure the network. There is no voting, master nodes, or minimum amount required. There have been transactions as small as 2 Qtum that have created blocks in the past. Staking from smart contracts is under development.
