With the release of v1.0 Alliance is a stable platform for creating a secure friend-2-friend network!

Here's how:

http://www.alliancep2p.com/dev/netbeans.shtml

Alliance v0.9.7 released

Alliance takes the best from BitTorrent and Direct Connect and creates a sweet decentralized and secure p2p network.
Alliance works on Windows, Linux and Mac.
It is a private and secure environment to share files and communicate with people you know. Alliance works on Windows, Linux and Mac.

This is a maintenance release with lots of bug fixes.

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=166584

Alliance v0.9.5 released

Alliance is a decentralized friend-to-friend network with file-swarming download capability. It is a private and secure environment to share files and communicate with people you know. Alliance works on Windows, Linux and Mac.

Biggest news for this version are encryption and a more polite background mode. You should now be able to run Alliance in backround mode without any slowdown of your computer.

Download Alliance here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=166584

Step-by-step guide to programming Alliance

We realized that there was no real documentation on how to get the Alliance development environment running (with the TestSuite and everything). So here it is.

Getting started programming Alliance:
http://www.alliancep2p.com/dev/gettingstarted.shtml

Alliance p2p v0.8.30 released

Alliance is a decentralized friend-to-friend network with file-swarming download capability. It is a private and secure environment to share files and communicate with people you know. Alliance works on Windows, Linux and Mac.

Biggest news for this version is the share browsing feature. It is now possible to browse the file structure a friend shares.

Other changes include:
*Possibility to view the share of a friend ('View Share' button in toolbar for 'My Network')
*Friends connect much faster at startup
*Users that have been offline for a long time have a special icon in the user list
*If a friend was connected via another friend then his name is shown in user list
*Automatically unfold folders in search result that only have one item in them
*Fixed bug: Alliance window overlapping start menu when maximized
