problems with german umlauts

i am running arson on a gentoo system with utf8.
it has got problems displaying the german umlauts, in
the menus as well as in the filenames. when i edit
filenames and the song information manually, it shows
the right characters.

no tagging with FLAC files

tagging of title info etc. is not working when encoding to FLAC files. tags
should be of oggvorbis style, but the command option (-T, --
tag=FIELD=VALUE Add a Vorbis comment; may appear multiple
times) differs a little bit.......

great program though, i like using it!

Crash when unknown file dragged&dropped

When dragging&dropping a file with an unknown extension
(in my case, an mp3 file that was incorrectly renamed),
arson crashes. See attached backtrace.

This is arson 0.9.8beta2 on KDE 3.2.2 on Debian testing.

Failure to list source drive for copy

This bug was observed in all version through 0.9.8beta2

In a system without IDE CD-Rom drives, the list of
available copy sources will be empty. If one if the
SCSI drives is added to the IOCTL devices list, it will
then show in the copy sources list.

Still, CD copying doesn't work. The copy process using
CDRDAO will fail when trying to start because of an
invalid copy source specification (needs bus,id,lun,
not /dev/cdromX)

Apparently the drop down box, which should only list
SCSI drives, excludes SCSI drives instead. Also, no
option is provided to copy using the recorder only,
even though this is supported by CDRDAO.

Spec file highly broken

I did a lot of hacking on the spec file to attempt to
get it to work, and I now have it to a (nearly) working
state. The only error I have now actually appears to be
a problem in the Makefile(s).

I attached the arson.spec that I've built up as an
example. Several of the things should be derived from
the configure (vorbis, flac, other configure options)
but this "Works For Me".

Lame encoder fails when given an invalid genre

Occasionally, freedb will return a genre that is not
supported by lame. When this happens lame exits with
an error and the track is not encoded.

cd ripping process not correctly terminated

Occasionally when ripping CDs i'll run across one which
will not correctly rip. The cdda2wav process is
launced but the lame process fails. arson continues to
launch cdda2wav processes until it has failed on every
track. This leaves a cdda2wav process for each track
on the disc running with no encoder process to read the
data.
