it would be nice to not have to see and wait for the command prompt to come up and close while the system is speaking the person's name. A utility that does this is called "hstart", and I can run a command line like:

"C:\Program Files\eSpeak\command_line\hstart" /noconsole ""C:\Program Files\eSpeak\command_line\espeak" -a 30 -p 60 -s 200 "USERNAME GOES HERE""

and then it will speak the name WITHOUT opening a command window. Just a thought..

configure settings per-buddy

Most settings should be configurable
on a per-buddy basis, not just globally (default)

Add an easy way to verify that audio is working
(rather than waiting for someone to IM you).

If the new configuration dialog
can configure voice pitch & speed,
maybe it could have a button to demo those settings.
