A utility that does this is called "hstart", and I can run a command line like:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;"C:\Program Files\eSpeak\command_line\hstart" /noconsole ""C:\Program Files\eSpeak\command_line\espeak"  -a 30 -p 60 -s 200 "USERNAME GOES HERE""&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;and then it will speak the name WITHOUT opening a command window.
