i found a working fork for PHP 8.1 here in the comments section of this link:

"A quick fix which worked for me: replace the index.php and classes/Htaccess.php classes/Url.php files in the old version with the files in the new version (from rubo77). Good luck."

Fixed some issues

Thanks for your update to autoindex.
However, I did encounter some curly bracket issues in, index.php, Htaccess.php and Url.php.
I fixed it, and have attached the files in Autoindex-7.1.rar, including all the other files.
Hope this is useful to someone out there :)
