Bootchart is a tool for performance analysis and visualization of the GNU/Linux boot process. Resource utilization data and process information are collected during the boot process and can later be displayed in a PNG, SVG or EPS encoded chart.

Version 0.9 introduces application monitoring, alternative init invocation (e.g. initng) and offers better FHS compliance.

Version 0.8 greatly improves the boot logger. External tools (such as top and iostat) are no longer used, as all data are collected from the proc file system directly. The installation procedure was also streamlined.
