Repaired 2/11/07</p> <p>The addition is a optional &quot;force&quot; setting for allowing the mounts of dirty NTFS disks. CDriveBack does not automatically mount questionable disks. </p> <p>&quot;Force&quot; is required as clean NTFS disks are frequently marked dirty as a convenience for launching the Microsoft chkdsk utility at boot time.</p></div>

<div class="markdown_content"><p>CDriveBack, the appliance live-cd for backing up XP systems (and many others) Release Candidate 1 is available.</p> <p>Internally it is a Gentoo Distro with DAR and NTFS support.</p> <p>To date CDriveBack has been tested on XP's and Win 98's with no problems for three weeks.</p> <p>It successfully restored one XP Home after the OS refused to boot and files were trashed, apparently <br /> the FAT info was trashed. The tester was most grateful. CDriveBack works.</p> <p>We need a SATA and RAID testers.</p> <p>Jay Nickson</p></div>
