Notes, haven't figured out how to make xfbdev work.

Modified patch to run kernel 2.6.12 on colinux

Hello colinux developpers,

Tha patch file for the linux kernel in the development
snapshot package 2005/05/24 on the web is currently
applicable to kernel 2.6.11.
I modified this patch for kernel 2.6.12, and it's
attached to this email.

Try this patch if you want to run kernel 2.6.12 on your
colinux.

Regards,

I've put together a private patch against 0.6.3-pre13 for
Squashfs 2.1 and Unionfs 0.12a available at:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/\*checkout*/colonist/colinux/patch/linux-private.patch?rev=1.2

Kernel config file (which differs by 2 lines only) is:
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/\*checkout*/colonist/colinux/conf/linux-config?rev=1.2

Colonist project (http://colonist.sf.net) would benefit
a lot from a statically linked squashfs module.
Unionfs is bonus. :-)

3D Icon for CoLinux

Improved 3D icon for colinux, with all relevant sizes
and various files. There is only one logic change that
fixes a memory allocation. The major part of it
updates the functions names of the code in a more
object orientated style, and it documents the code
further with longer variables names rather than a
single character.

0.6.2-pre7 cocd

This patch fixes the packet loss with the coserial
driver. It also fixes the occasional "lock-up" when
coserial is used.

2.6.8.1-co-0.6.2-pre1 coserial

This updates coserial-daemon and adds coserial-dll.

.../colinux/src/colinux/os/winnt/user/coserial-daemon/*
.../colinux/src/colinux/os/winnt/user/coserial-dll/*

Coserial-daemon used an outdated method to read and
write data from standard input and the daemon. This
update lets coserial-daemon open coserial-dll to use
refactorable code and comply with standards to pass
messages over the daemon queue easier. It simplified
the standard input read and write to synchronus
functions which makes it easier for other to read the
code and translate to other languages.

Coserial-dll adds refactorable functions that helps a
programmer to access coserial. It uses the standard
user-daemon queue to handle such serial messages. The
DLL is easily imported to any language that supports
DLL imports.

One use for coserial-dll is used to enable programmers
to write zero-configuration programs. It works good
for acess to colinux for pre-network set-up and install.

Another use is to act as a "connection trapping" device
as explained in the wiki.

While the DLL is NT specific code, we could write
another os/linux/user/coserial-daemon that does not use
a DLL or WINAPI, and we'll still have compatible features.

2.6.8.1-co-0.6.2-pre1 cocd

This updates coserial in the kernel driver,
../drivers/char/cocd.c. It can handle the data push
from the daemon message queue while it simulates a
hardware poll and buffers data to the line disicpline.
I added cocd_task(), modified cocd_interrupt(), added
cocd_throttle() and made various changes.

The previous version of cocd did not work.
