&lt;p&gt;Proposed methodology:&lt;br /&gt;
1. Generate a 1 GiB file on the source.&lt;br /&gt;
2. Write the 1 GiB file to the target.&lt;br /&gt;
3. Read the file from the target to the source, but do not delete from the target. Record the resulting speeds.&lt;br /&gt;
4.
