Add the path variable
PATH=path of psql:$PATH
export PATH
which psql

eg:
PATH=/usr/local/pgsql/bin:$PATH
export PATH
which psql
Output:
/usr/local/pgsql/bin/psql

Hello! Further to the post by Leon, I had some trouble installing on Server 2016. To resolve this I just ran the installer in compatibilty mode for Windows 7, this may work on Server 2012 too.

iview searching psql client install error

I'm trying to install iView on CentOs 6.8 with Postgresql 8.4.2
at the step "searching psql client" I get this error :
psql: FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user "postgres" ./iview_linux_installer/setup: line 198: [: -lt: unary operator expected
I've tried lot of settings without success.
Could you help?

i had installed cyberrom iview on windows server 2003 and running succesfully.But yesterday i found my server c drive very low space due to garner.log become around 2GB.
i installed iview on c-drive and archive logs and postgre on other drive.
i want to move garner.log file on c drive to another drive so my server unaffected.
kindly provide the solution at the earliest.

Issues with Web Surfing reports in search feature.

We are having an issue with our iview set up where we are receiving logs from our Fortigate firewalls but we are unable to search using the Web Surfing searches.

We are able to search for the current week as an example Yesterday and today but if we try and search back a few weeks we get no results despite us knowing that the information is there.

At current we are having to export the data to a CSV to generate the same report that is possible for the current week.

Our Fortigate versions are 5.0 Build 252.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect this probably the same issue I experience and it is an issue with the bundled PostgreSQL package..
- Download and perform a clean install of PostgreSQL 8.4.21
(If you have previously attempted an installation delete the existing PostgresSQL user account in windows)
- Install it, keep the installation and data folders linked (i.e. it is OK to change the installation folder but don't change the data folder to a separate location)
- Use the same password when installing PostgreSQL and iView
- install iView as normal
- don't forget to create the Windows Firewall Rules to allow inbound traffic to the web server on port 8000 and the Syslog Server on port 514

I figured this out it is an issue with the bundled PostgreSQL package..

Error Message: The setup iView is terminated from the message "there was an error while installing iView on your computer click finish to exit setup"
Once you click finish there is another dialogue box: "Setup Aborting iView installed failed"
I have tried installing on a clean Windows 2012 Server Installation and a clean Windows 8.1 Installation (both environments are x64 deployments), unfortunately I cannot see any error log files being generated and the installer is cleaning up most of its data so there is nothing there to look at. I have also disabled the windows firewall and there is no antivirus installed yet.
