Nevermind. Resolved! The issue was the SW at the URL above. I bought a program from the Microsoft store for $1 and it worked!

Hello,

I created a bootable USB using an "iso to usb" program. I changed boot up in the bios to USB only. However, I'm not getting a prompt or anything. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? The SW I used is from www.isotousb.com. Is the SW the issue?

So i want to wipe a laptop, i want to install this on a usb drive, put the usb into the laptop, wipe the laptop and keep the thumbdrive. but idk how this works. When i download this nuke, is it a file or installer? Can it be transfered onto a usb drive? Can I choose what disk I want deleted and keep the rest? is it a one and done or is it a virus that keeps itself and destroys others?

Don't use DBAN. It hasn't been maintained in nearly a decade. Use DBAN's successor, ShredOS https://github.com/PartialVolume/shredos.x86_64 which is fully updated and works with the vast majority of old and new hardware.

Hi. I've successfully used DBAN on one of my old laptops, but I'm having trouble getting it to work on another one. The laptop boots from the USB flash drive, and I know the DBAN copy is good because it worked on the first laptop.

However, no matter which option I choose (autonuke, dodshort, etc.), it only shows a brief message at the bottom saying "loading dban.bzi......" before going to a blank black screen. I can power off the laptop using the hardware button and restart it, which boots back into DBAN from the flash drive, but nothing seems to happen. I even waited for 30 minutes to be sure, but it doesn't appear to be working links.

Any suggestions?
