We’ve been refining details, fixing issues, and introducing innovations. Today, we are excited to announce that the deepin 25.1 images are officially released!

I. Major Updates

UOS AI Evolution
This update deeply empowers productivity, bringing a system-level reconstruction and ecological expansion to UOS AI.
· System-level Claw Mode: The newly launched system-level native Claw mode fully integrates with mainstream IM application interfaces such as Lark, DingTalk, and QQ. Users can use natural language commands to let AI automatically control the computer to complete complex system tasks.

· AI Writing Agent Reconstruction:
Deep Feeding and Outline First: Supports directly uploading local reference materials and document outlines. AI will output a logical outline before generating the main text, allowing users to manually adjust the chapter structure and fully grasp the initiative in creation.
In-depth Analysis and Traceability: AI conducts in-depth logical analysis and Web Search in the background. All core arguments and data support one-click source traceability, ensuring the authenticity and authority of the content.
Built-in Editor: Added a built-in editor that supports modifying text formats online and one-click exporting to PDF, Word, and Markdown formats.
Intelligent Model Scheduling: The default model has been upgraded to "Intelligent Scheduling" mode, dynamically matching DeepSeek-v3.2 and GLM-4.7 models based on task difficulty. It also supports on-device and privately deployed model generation, ensuring ultimate privacy and security when Web Search is turned off.

· Open Skills Ecosystem: Added the Skills Center, with built-in functions to create and find skills. It also supports one-click importing of extended skills via .zip or .skill format archives.

Kernel Leap, Upgrading to Version 6.18
deepin 25.1 welcomes a major kernel upgrade, with the system's high-version kernel jumping from 6.12 to 6.18, fully integrating the main functional features of 6 major versions.
· Reconstructed Memory Management: Introduced the new Slub memory allocation mechanism and Swap Table infrastructure, significantly reducing the overhead and latency of kernel memory allocation and release, and improving extreme performance.
· File System Acceleration: Deep underlying optimizations were made for Ext4 and XFS file systems, significantly improving system file read/write and loading speeds.
· Enhanced Performance and Fluidity: Officially added the BORE scheduler from CachyOS, comprehensively improving the smoothness of desktop interaction and multi-tasking.
· Expanded Hardware Compatibility: Added support for new hardware features such as Intel APX, continuously integrated the latest hardware vendor driver patches, and promoted the seamless migration of new and old devices.

II.New Features and Optimizations
· File Manager:
Supports right-clicking to pin top tabs, keeping important directory paths persistent, and supports cross-window drag-and-drop.
When previewing images, the sidebar supports drag-to-zoom previews.
Optimized the visual effects of file grouping for clearer and more comfortable browsing.

· Screen Capture and Recording: Integrated AI features, supporting AI processing of text on screenshots, such as explanation and translation.

· Taskbar: Supports split icon display when an application opens multiple windows (needs to be set in the Control Center).

· Control Center: Added mouse pointer size settings (requires logging out or rebooting to take effect in some applications).

· Mail: Added email printing functionality.

· AI Companion: Minor visual adjustments were made, making icons more refined and operations smoother.

· Linyaps Environment:
Synchronously upgraded the Linyaps NVIDIA closed-source graphics driver to version 580.119.02, fixing the issue where Linyaps NVIDIA drivers caused applications like Cinema/Mail to display transparently;
For users upgrading from 25.0.10, if the Linyaps environment NVIDIA driver is not updated synchronously, an update reminder will be triggered when using Linyaps to prompt users to upgrade the Linyaps environment graphics driver.

III.Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
System and Security
· Fixed the issue of slow update check and upgrade performance in the Control Center after installing the image.
· Fixed the issue where a full BOOT partition caused final configuration failures, leading to upgrade failures.
· Optimized the abnormal prompt logic for power outage updates in the Solid Immutable System.
· Fixed multiple kernel security vulnerabilities in deepin 25.
· Integrated recent cumulative security updates, focusing on CVE vulnerability fixes for certain system components and applications.
· Fixed system abnormal log issues that occurred during standby wake-up, hibernation, and restart stress testing scenarios.

DDE
· Fixed anomalies and crashes of the Window Manager (X11/Treeland) in scenarios such as multi-screen switching, lock screen, taskbar auto-hide, and Alt+Tab switching.
· Fixed the issue where the "Multi-display" setting in the Control Center did not disappear promptly after unplugging an external screen in multi-screen extended mode.
· Fixed the issue in dual-screen extended mode where the secondary screen wallpaper did not display and the lock screen could not be entered.
· Fixed the issue of unclear boundaries on dark wallpapers in dark mode.
· Fixed the issue in the Control Center - Shortcuts module where the window and workspace categories were missing, and some window manager shortcuts were missing from the system category.
· Fixed the issue of system update failures triggered by the Control Center and abnormal rollback pop-ups.

Application Fixes
· File Manager: Fixed issues such as the lack of prompts for insufficient space and abnormal SMB/FTP context menus.
· Terminal: Fixed issues with abnormal log printing, abnormal tab drag-and-drop styles in DTK scaling scenarios, and choppy animation effects when closing windows with multiple windows open.
· App Store: Fixed the issue of loading failures in IPv6 scenarios and installation failures for certain applications.
· Multimedia:
· Fixed stuttering, noise, and high CPU usage issues when playing in Cinema and Music apps under Bluetooth headset (A2DP) scenarios;
· Fixed the issue where clicking the volume control module caused the volume to unexpectedly decrease, and the issue where the sound output device automatically switched to HDMI after logging out.
· UOS AI: Fixed issues such as main interface loading abnormalities, ineffective knowledge base Q&A, abnormal NLP input, and the unavailability of some architectural functions.

In order to further optimize the deepin 25 system update experience and enhance stability, the deepin 25.0.10 image is now officially released. This update focuses on system installation experience, file management, system interaction, and stability, optimizing multiple high-frequency usage scenarios, fixing a large number of known issues, and improving system smoothness and reliability.

Key Updates in This Release

System Installer: Optimized the prompt text for data formatting during full-disk installation, now supporting the option to retain user data and reuse the original account data, configurations, and files.

Comprehensive Upgrade of File Manager: Added practical features such as automatic scrolling during file drag-and-drop, group display, and pinned tabs, significantly improving file operation efficiency.

System Interaction and Interface Polish: Optimized interaction details of the taskbar, control center, lock screen, clipboard, etc., enhancing operational accuracy and visual consistency.

Feature Enhancement and Ecosystem Improvement: Added practical functions including the Origin business theme, 98-Wubi input method, AI screenshot, and strengthened multilingual and device compatibility support.

Stability and Security Reinforcement: Fixed various issues related to system startup, file management, DDE, and application operation, while updating graphics drivers and security patches.

Recommended Use Cases

This image is a feature-enhanced and bug-fix update version. Fresh installation is recommended for the following users:

Those installing the deepin 25 operating system on a new device for the first time, needing to quickly obtain the latest features and patches.
Users currently running deepin 25 but who have not updated for a long time, resulting in overly time-consuming upgrades, and who wish to upgrade to the latest deepin 25 system in one step via a fresh image.
Note: If your current system is running normally and is kept up to date, you can check for updates directly via "Control Center → System Update" to upgrade to the latest version without reinstalling.

Known Issues Pending Fix

We are aware that there are still a few minor issues in the current image that do not affect normal use, such as:

After installation, opening Control Center → System Update may result in an unusually slow update check process (it can still check and update normally, but takes slightly longer; updates can also be performed via command line).
During the update/upgrade animation, the post-reboot update animation, and on the lock screen, the scaling ratio may drop to 100%. On high-resolution screens, the scaling ratio may not adapt automatically, but it will restore after entering the system.
Due to the update check process being occupied, enabling the internal test channel during an update check may take a long time. If you wish to join the internal test, it is recommended to do so after completing the update check.
The above issues have been included in the fix plan and will be resolved through subsequent system updates. If you encounter any other problems, please feel free to provide feedback.

In response to community feedback and to resolve critical boot issues and core file manager experience problems encountered by some users after installing the deepin 25 stable release, our R&D team has conducted urgent fixes and testing. We are now officially releasing the deepin 25.0.1 patched ISO image.

This version (25.0.1) primarily targets new installation users and users needing to reinstall their system. It focuses on resolving the following significant issues present in the original release image (25.0):

Core Fixes in This Image

1、System Boot (Critical Fix!):
Resolved sporadic failure to boot into the system on some devices: Fixed boot black screen/freezing at boot screen with error messages related to IP conflict or Sound (sound card).

2、File Manager:
Fixed abnormal styling in the "Save As" dialog in browsers (including the native browser, Chrome, Edge, etc.).
Fixed incorrect file type sorting behavior.
Fixed abnormal Traditional Chinese translations.

Important Notes

This 25.0.1 is the patched installation image. If you plan to perform a fresh installation of deepin 25, we strongly recommend downloading and using this 25.0.1 image to avoid encountering the critical boot issues mentioned above.
For users who have successfully installed and booted into 25.0: You do not need to reinstall your system using this 25.0.1 image. Simply check for updates via the Control Center or use the command line to upgrade.
Known Issues: This image only fixes the core issues listed above. deepin 25 Alpha has enhanced system-level product functionality and personalized management capabilities to provide users with a complete desktop environment. This version continues design improvements and functional optimizations for the deepin Solid Operating System, UOS AI, and Control Center modules (wallpaper, screensaver, power management, mouse, touchpad, etc.), now meeting daily usage and management needs while integrating features requested by user feedback.

Important Notes:

1、For users who installed deepin 25 Preview via custom installation (non-full-disk installation):
After completing the system upgrade and rebooting, execute the following three commands:

sudomount-o remount,rw /sysroot
sudomount-o remount,rw /boot
sudo deepin-immutable-ctl admin deploy

Reboot the system again after executing these commands to ensure normal future system upgrades.
2、The Linyaps application in this version has not been updated. Use the ll-cli upgrade command for upgrades. To upgrade the browser separately, use ll-cli upgrade org.deepin.browser.
3、deepin 25 Alpha contains known unresolved issues that will be addressed through periodic updates for bug fixes.
4、This is an Alpha release and is not recommended for production environments.

1.1 Linyaps

Linyaps is a software package management tool independently developed by deepin, designed to address long-standing issues in Linux software ecosystems such as dependency conflicts, fragmented distribution, and high security risks.
Based on mechanisms like User Namespace and CGroup, Linyaps provides a unified application runtime environment decoupled from the operating system. This environment includes libraries and dependencies commonly used by desktop applications such as Qt, supports multi-version coexistence, and implements a "one architecture, one build" model.
Currently, Linyaps supports major distributions including deepin, UOS, openEuler, and Ubuntu, and is compatible with AMD64, ARM64, and LoongArch platforms. It enables one-click conversion of deb, AppImage, and Flatpak formats into Linyaps packages. Applications can also be distributed globally through the standalone public Linyaps Store. As of the end of 2024, over 3,000 applications have been adapted.

III. Known Unresolved Issues

The example images in the "Desktop Style Selection" option of the Welcome application still show deepin 20 screenshots.
The calendar has not been updated with 2025 statutory holiday information.
In multi-boot systems, changes to the boot order do not take effect.
The battery icon appears too small in the power management plugin panel.
Abnormal selection effects in launcher app group title names.

This integration enables users of deepin 23 and deepin 25 Preview to leverage robust, privacy-focused AI capabilities directly on their devices—no cloud dependency required.

Why this Matters
DeepSeek-R1, known for its lightweight architecture and edge-computing efficiency, eliminates the need for cloud-based processing. By running entirely locally, it ensures data privacy while maintaining low hardware overhead—ideal for users ranging from developers to daily Linux enthusiasts.

How to Set Up DeepSeek-R1 on deepin
1. Update UOS A
deepin 23: One-click update via Application Store.

deepin 25 Preview:

sudo apt update  
sudo apt install uos-ai deepin-modelhub uos-ai-rag

Pro Tip: First-time users will activate a free trial account post-installation.

After updating, open the Settings option in UOS AI, go to Model Configuration - Local Models, and select Embedding Plugin - Install/Update. You will be automatically redirected to the application store interface, where you can click Install/Update to complete the process.

Grab the pre-optimized DeepSeek-R1-1.5B GGUF from Google Drive .
Move the model to:
/home/[USERNAME]/.local/share/deepin-modelhub/models
