This is not a bug. I do not know of any other way to get in touch with the developers and hope someone can answer my request/question.

I am playing (hobby, no commercial goals) with an old USB capture that has the TDA8290+TDA8275 combo. I managed to get the device working under Windows 10 x64 using the Windows XP x32 drivers. More info upon request. I want to see the analog tuner no signal (noise) screen. However I get a black / blanking screen (CVBS and SVideo inputs work, so not a problem with the USB device as a whole). The TDA8295 datasheet shows it has the CVBS configuration register with the respective blanking bits configuration. So my question: does the TDA8290 has some such configuration or is it fixed to blanking in case there is no signal/lock present? An my request - TDA8290 and TDA8275 datasheets. From the comments in the code it seems that the developers have these.

My USB capture device sends video over USB, but the audio is sent over a regular 3.5mm cable, which I have plugged into my front panel's mic input. Most programs do fine handling this, although DScaler doesn't seem able to capture and output it for some reason. Please find the debug log attached. (Note: I was running the program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 just in case that may have been it, as well as running it in Administrator mode).

How is development going right now?

wdm-specific use

Hi, does Dscaler establish a WDM connection to CX23881 cards? IF so, can that WDM layer be made available to other applications? I have no WDM driver support for my card, so I can't use any of the popular recording apps. If Dscaler could provide the WDM layer, these applications could "see" the card.

DS not fully compatible with webcam driver

the generic usb webcam driver with windows XP is outdated but your program does not fully support it!
the big problem is that i am stuck with 640x480, but for some reason only the built in windows photographer (choose "usb video device" in "my computer") can take high resolution photographs (1600x1200), and also this guys modified win3.11 program: http://videocapture.sourceforge.net/ but the maximum is 1280*1024 because a higher resolution cannot be selected in the crummy old "capture pin" driver properties page.

your program and media player classic can only access the cam at 640x480 tops, if i go to "usb video device", "capture pin" and choose any higher resolution i get a error message which never appears in the foreground for either mpc or dscaler. the error message does not appear if the video stream is stopped. dscaler is more susceptable to this (or another) problem, dscaler will not run if another program (even if it is currently closed) did use the webcam, it gives me the error "can't create overlay surface: 8876028" and then the program closes which only a reboot fixes.

Bug A
i stop the video playing and the webcam light extinguishes. i go to capture pin and change the res to the max i close it by chooseing OK. i start the webcam video stream, the display stays in 640x480 mode and displays only the top left corner of the resolution i selected. in MPC, i start play and windows says program needs to close - tell microsoft!

Bug B
your program and MPC, if i left video playing, and change the video resolution using the "capture pin" properties, the error that appears behind the windows is titled "error connecting" and the main message is "this format is not currently available" the windows are not closable until i remove this background message.

TIP. one thing i noticed in the program from that guy's sourceforge page is that just after i change the resolution, his program changes size. so i think the problem is your program is not updating to the new resolution set.
MPC is the older type, dscaler is current version.

linux port

i gave up a msi tv anywhere master on windows i tried the windvr 3 always would eventually lock up.used nero home(ver 7) which worked well but sometimes would lock up computer. my own testing with dscaler in xp is great no lock ups, left on for hours. --- thank you for you hard work on this program--- although windows 7 is different, i had used the blackbird driver for it and thou dscaler loads it come up with an error and the screen comes up with a green tint to it. the aver791 tv tuner does not work either with it in win 7 with drivers from vista 64bit. since there is no win 7 drivers for either msi tv master or the avermedia 791(oem product). i was hoping for a linux port for use in ubuntu, linuxmint, fedora, nimblex, or others. i messed with the ubuntu and tried tvtime and another with no sucess but did have partial sucess with both tuners with vlc. also i notice that dscaler uses one of my cpus(quad core) at 100% not a biggie, total cpu usage not over 26%. but since it doesnt lock up i am satisfied, when using the msi(intervideo) or nero cpu useage is alot lower like 25% on one cpu. dscaler does show up with good screen with the a791. thanks
