I could be wrong to be using the images at ftp://ftp.devil-linux.org/pub/ devel/testing/ to fix the Illegal Instruction squid crashes I'm seeing but I thought I had read that they had been fixed there. Instead, are they fixed only in CVS? I had tried ftp://ftp.devil-linux.org/pub/ devel/testing/devil-linux-1.8.0-rc2-2016-08-13-x86_64.tar.xz after noticing the issue when upgrading to 1.8.0-rc1 but it still gives me the "Illegal Instruction" error. When 1.8.0-rc1 failed, I tried upgrading my system (from a PII) to a an Athlon 64 dual core, thinking that would work, but it didn't. When this is settled, I may want to go back to the PII, but for now I'm entertaining the idea of keeping the overkill athlon dual core. The only system I have been able to run it on is a second generation intel core i5 (I just tested it with my fastest gaming machine, but won't be using it). Anyway, are images available with the squid compilation working on lowest common denominator i686 or x86_64 yet? I'm excited that there's a new devil linux version out and wish I could use it. Thanks for updating everything, it must be a huge undertaking. |

Sorry guys, completely forgot to upload a new version. It's uploading right now and should be finished about 10 minutes from the time I wrote this email. Thanks a lot! It works great now! Since I've signed up for this list, I also think I should let you know about a couple of issues I've had in the past: I've been getting a minor firewall rules error: "RTNETLINK answers: Address family not supported by protocol" According to http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/28262/ip-rule-for-ipv6, it appears to be related to a kernel option that isn't enabled by default: CONFIG_IPV6_MULTIPLE_TABLES . I don't really have IPv6 yet, so it's probably okay, but it might be useful in the future. Also, looking back at when I had the PII, the system wouldn't power off at shutdown due to the "apm" module not being available, but I understand if support for those old systems is waning. I got along by not performing a shutdown, most of the time. Neither is a major issue, so please only look at them as suggestions. Thanks for the awesome distro! I love the new version, Lucas On Fri, Sep 2, 2016 at 7:20 AM, Heiko Zuerker <he...@zu...> wrote: > Sorry guys, completely forgot to upload a new version.
