Thread: [Devil-Linux-discuss] automount non-lvm partition at boot time

Does Devil-linux have any other available mountpoints for hard disk 
partitions at boot time (i.e. for listing in /etc/fstab) apart from /mnt 
and those inside a devil-Linux VG. Fortunately I only needed one, so I 
am using /mnt!

Any directory anywhere can be used as a mount point.  If it's not empty the
newly mounted disc hides what's in it so usually you create one for the
purpose.  You can mount discs in more than one place at once and you can mount
part of a filesystem too - it doesn't have to be the root (of its directory tree).

I guess on DL most of the file systems are read-only so if you're going to
create a new mount point it'd have to be in shared memory - /etc, /var and so
on.  You can also create them on a disc already mounted on /mnt.  Commonly
subdirectories of /mnt are created for such things. /mnt/foo /mnt/bar and so on.
