Hi all, just tried to upgrade from Devil-Linux 1.6.8-i686 to Devil-Linux 1.8.0-rc1-x86_64. But after boot I can't login and get the message "account temporary locked" with an long numbers of second as time to try. I'm sure to use the right password, because the original system was still running (do an copy of the vm with backup/restore) and I'm rechack the password twice. Second issue: After that I reboot and don't adapt user/groups but the issue still appears... (I guess user/groups are applied) After that I select n to skip the old config (I want to read simply the openvpn-config after system start) but the config was still applied! I see routes during startup, which are in the ifcfg-eth0 file. Udo |

Udo, Sorry for the late response. I'm not sure about the issues with the login. We really didn't do any major changes except software updates. Are you using LDAP or something like that, or do you only use local accounts & groups? I haven't found any issues with my upgrades, but I got everything local. When you select "n" during the upgrade, it will load the old config and execute everything that's set there. So I assume it was working as designed (unless I misunderstood you). Hi Heiko, the account are the normal linux root account - no ldap. I will try to dig in this issue. That "n" preverse the old config and not start with an clean one, was an misunderstanding of me. So the right way to dismiss an non-working config is select upgrade and deselect all files? regards Udo On 13.07.2016 17:23, Heiko Zuerker wrote: > Udo, > > Sorry for the late response. > > I'm not sure about the issues with the login. Udo, "n" basically dismissed the upgrade. It loads the previous configuration without modifying it. Deselecting all files is the same as starting with a clean config, which I think is what you're asking for. You could simply delete the configuration archive from the media to achieve the same (obviously you'll lose everything). Hi all, found the issue - has nothing to do with the config. Looks that somethings changed at /var/log/faillog - if I moved this file bevor update I can login without trouble. Perhaps I tried an wrong password at the first time - but after that an login with correct pw wans't possible. With moved faillog it's work like expected. I'm glad it wasn't my fault! ;-) Thanks for the update.
