I do remember seeing quite a few spam posts on there (And maybe those were just the ones that the admins hadn't taken down yet). How much was it? I am willing to moderate that, including writing scripts to help automate spotting spam.

Re:usage
Well, even though many devpaks hadn't been updated in years, they still had thousands of downloads per month. Linked is my sourceforge project for storing my devpaks. As you can see, in March 2015 when Orwell Dev-C++ was updated to "temporarily" remove the WebUpdate feature, these 20ish devpaks were still getting 20,000 downloads per month. (Unfortunately, Orwell stopped being updated at this time!)
And then in early March, 2018, when devpaks.org was taken offline, these same devpaks had still been getting a few thousand downloads per month, just from people going to devpaks.org manually.
So there appears to be still plenty of interest. I reckon we would need to restore WebUpdate back into Orwell. Again, this software is hugely popular, getting 100,000 downloads a week as we speak; so probably if we put it back, they will come as they did before.

Bring DevPaks.org back! :)

Hi Mike :)

It nice to see interest in the good old devpaks.org :)

However I don't see much value in that :) I mean, in the last years of existence there were few (if any) devpak updates per year. In fact there were much more spam posts than valid devpak updates.
That also means that most of them become completely obsolete.
And another problem was that devpaks were never stored at devpaks.org, so unless they were stored e.g. here at SourceForge they had the tendency to disappear.

And a devpak is simply a file, so having devpaks.org down didn't stop devpaks from working. You can upload it anywhere and anybody can use them by simply downloading them and installing them by double clicking (or that used to work back then :) ).

If you are just looking for a place to upload a new devpak I can give you rights for this project so you can upload them here.

Have a nice day,

If someone is willing to get the website back up, I for one will be happy to pay the monthly hosting cost. SourceForge.net can host the files. If interested in this, please contact me, and let's get this going!
