Clickable Catagories

Catagories should be clickable so as to display the
discussion boards under that catagory. This provides a
neater and alternative access to the discussion boards
for forum users

Multiple Polls

admin and moderators allowed to add calendar events

either automatically allow moderators to add events to
the calendar, or be able to assign calendar
event-adding privilege to certain users or groups.
even just adding a checkbox that admin/moderators can
check to allow users to post events would work.

Reserved usernames

Is there anyway that we can reserve a few usernames
so that new members cant create an account using that
name.

For example, I dont want them to be able to create an
account called
"Administrator"

Hidden Messages

It would be a great feature to add the support for
creating hidden messages in the discussion board.

I would like you to add a feature so that a user can
create a 'draft' message and then post it at a later stage.

Blogger.com uses 'post and 'publish' mechanism, e.g.
when a users simply posts it saves it as a draft
message and message is hidden and does not get
publishes, until users selects 'publish'.

Many times, a user woudl want to add a message that
is a mixture of url's, word documents, ideas, e-mails etc
etc... this draft/hidden message facility will allow a user
to keep all that informationin one place before actually
releasing/publishing it to the discusion forum.

I would greatly appreciate if the multiple file attachment
feature can be added to the admin center. So that
admin can decide the total size of all files and total
number of files that can be uploaded, when a user
submits a post.

Generate static HTML pages

Hi,

Generate static HTML pages (maybe in parallel with
dynamic pages). This will increase speed hugely and
make it indexer friendly. Very few message boards
support this, yet it is so important to have a fast site
that gets lots of traffic from search engines like Google.

Possible implementation: Provide an option that, when
turned on, will write out a static index and message
pages. One should be able to implement this by
extending the "post message" subroutine.

Benefits:
- Make message boards more search engine/spider
friendly and attract greater visitor numbers
- Serving static HTML pages are extremely fast and
hugely scalable

Drawbacks:
- Use much more disk space
- Posting messages are somewhat slower (must also
generate the static pages)

Multiple Groups for Users

Just discovered what could be a problem with the
discussion boards. Whenever someone posts to one
forum, it goes to members of all the boards. We don't
want that. Is there something we need to check off and
haven't? People in one forum are receiving notices of
postings to the other forums. I'm receiving notices for
postings to any forum.

Is there a way to fix this?

Spell Check

A great feature would be to have a spell checker.
