This bug effected korganizer users. Lightning and Google seem to be more generous and ignore wrong parameters.

Version 0.2.0.1 fixes this bug.

Call for Requests

FreeMiCal is out for 16 days. No bugs have been reported so far.

Are you happy with the features? How can we improve the program?

Let us know.

Lightning 0.3.1 import

Import into Lightning 0.3.1 works without any limitation. Import of my 2460 items took 5 minutes.

Google Calendar restrictions

I tested FreeMiCal output with Google Calendar.
It works fine.

However, there is a quota limit on the number of calendar items one can add per day. I haven't found out the actual number, have to test a little.

Also, if you have more items in the export file, the server might run into a timeout. It leaves the import in an unfinished and undetermined state.

So far I am confident, that 500 items are OK.

FreeMiCal 0.2.0.0 released

FreeMiCal 0.2.0.0 is available now.

It now works with both Outlook 2003 and 2007.
FreeMiCal is much smaller due to performance optimization.

Have fun exporting.

FreeMiCal Roadmap

FreeMiCal works sufficiently stable. Since 0.1.0.8 we had no major glitches.

Next steps include automatic discrimitaion of installed office version to support Outlook 2003 users.

This should make FreeMiCal feature complete. I will then raise maturity status to Beta.

- better and more responsive graphical interface
- manual selection of Outlook profile
- improved error handling

FreeMiCal 0.1.0.10 released

FreeMiCal allows you to bulk export Outlook appointments to standard RFC2445 compliant iCal format.

Version 0.1.0.10 marks a major step towards beta.

Outlook 2003 allows only one appointment to be exported. Outlook 2007 limits export to max. 2000 appointment items, max. 10 years export range and max. 999 recurrence items.

Separate versions for developers and users available.

Known issues:
- requires Outlook 2007 installed (uses Office Interop Services)
- does not work with Outlook up to 2003
