Sync between remote folders

I really like your Script.
The only thing I miss is an option to sync 2 remote directories with each other.
Just like:

FTP-Server <--> FTPSync <--> FTP-Server

Would it be alot of work to add an option to allow folder dates to be syncronized too ?

As it is now, all folders are timestamped when they are created. It would be really good to be able to syncronize folder dates too.

Notice of ignored files

Make Ignoremask notices only visible in -v Verbose mode.
Its very annoying if you ignore whole directories (e.g. lib).

Option for ascii/binary FTP mode

ftpsync uses binary file transfer mode by default, which is fine most of the time, but not always. There should be an option to chose ASCII mode.

As a workaround, I made a copy of ftpsync.pl ("ftpsync_text.pl") and changed the line
$ftpc->binary()
to
$ftpc->ascii()

Document support for exclusions

I went into the code to add an 'exclusions' option, and found there is already one there! This is cool, but needs to be added to the documented options.

FYI, the syntax is a bit like

./ftpsync.pl -v ignoremask=cvs /var/www/sitefiles ftp://me:mypass@myhost.com/www/sitefiles

This will not upload the 'cvs' directories. It apparently runs as a regexp mask, so I'm not sure about advanced patterns, or case sensitivity.

Note also that the destination directory cannot end with a / ... or the synch fails. Not sure why, but it would be good to check.

Add support for .netrc

Please add a mechanism to read passwords from the
.netrc file as programs like the command line ftp do.
For a given machine name the password from .netrc could
replace the default password, thus eliminating the need
for plain text passwords in batch mode.

Run as Daemon

A run as daemon option (with user specified sleeptime)
would greatly enhance this script.

Option to keep owner / group / mode

Having an option to keep (restore) the owner / group /
mode of all files/directories during the transfer would
make it a way more useful tool, at least for me.

My application is to move / mirror websites content,
without using rsync.

having to manually chown / chmod the files makes it
impractical.

File deletion
