Of course, yes it is simple to send an email via SMTP from command-line but it needs to be done on FullSync connection failure, synchronisation failure etc. So need to be triggered by the fullsync application.

well I think that a simple command to execute would be the simplest and most versatile option.
SMTP can be done by command line on both windows and linux, not sure about mac.

Thanks for the reply.

Perhaps SNMP isn't the answer but certainly the ability to have the application provide some alerts should an (unattended) file transfer or synchronisation fail would be really useful.

A Windows event or the ability to send a notification email via SMTP perhaps ?

could you provide a specific example of what you would expect for SNMP traps?
Searching for documentation did not bring up anything that looked like it would be useful to a lot of users.

Could you look into providing a method of monitoring the synchronizations ?

Perhaps SNMP traps or the ability to send SMTP email on filaures (and successes)

Please consider to make FullSync portable. This would be extremely useful for me too and probably not so difficult for developers.

Hi!

+1 for the cancel option.
It will be very usefull, I'm trying different configurations with a lot of files, with ftp as destination, and the only option is to kill the process to cancel and start again, sometimes loosing parts of the configured profile.

#20 Run as a service

Hi!
I also add the request to run the program as service (under windows, at least).
It would be a great feature, to configure a task, schedule, and forget. Otherwise, if the host gets restarted, or the session were the profile is configured is offline, the task won't run.
For me, keeping the current functionality but running as a service is a "must have".

I hope you haven't discarded the idea of a portable version of FullSync.
Perhaps portability may be implemented in two ways:
- FullSync checks its program folder for settings files ("fullsync.log", "preferences.properties", "profiles.xml") and if these are available FullSync uses them.
- In "preferences" there might be an option- "Save settings in program folder" and if checked FullSync doesn't save data to user profile.
