I am trying to make Arch Linux package for glame-2.0.1, however, I have this problem:

Is there something wrong with my installation or is it a bug in glame?

Possible consulting request for project

Hi,

I am working on a project for a client and may need
help on a specific portion. It looks like glame
(cglame) can do exactly what I need but am limited on
time and was wondering if you can help the time to
assist me on a consultative basis.

Overview

The project is a basic online mixer. A flash
application allows the user to select music and voice
bits from a selection. These can be arranged and spaced
apart within the larger mix. When the user is finished
the flash application will send a configuration file to
the server which will then take the music, voice clips
and configuration file merging them into a single sound
file based on the configuration. Keep in mind that
some mp3 files may actually overlap.

After looking over cglame this seems like it can easily
perform the functionality I am looking for. Would you
agree?

I understand if you might be too busy, let me know if I
am on the right track and if cglame can perform the
functionality I need.

The build process did not report missing popt-devel
package on SuSe 8.2. After installing compile errors
searching for this package did not reoccur.

This dependency should probably be inserted in
./configure (actually I did not try that :-).

configure error: can't find xml2 2.0.0. I have xml2 2.6.7
installed. configure finds xml2-config. what do I need to
change?

Is there any way i can have someone send me a
compiled version of glame for an SGI IRIX octane? For
some reason my compiler never works and I would love
to be able to use glame.

resample

Hello!

I'm a newbie, and I'm trying to resample a sound, but
every time I do , I get a segmentation fault. Does it
have anything to do with these errors that come up when
I start glame:

/usr/local/share/glame/scripts/resample.scm: uncaught
throw to glame-error: ()
/usr/local/share/glame/scripts/bassboost.scm: uncaught
throw to glame-error: ()
/usr/local/share/glame/scripts/write_mp3.scm: uncaught
throw to glame-error: ()

Configure fails with Gnome 2.6

I just built and installed Gnome 2.6 from sources. I've
never used Gnome before so I'm rather unfamiliar with
how all things are set up.

When I try to build Glame 1.0.2, the configure script
fails with the following error:

checking for gnomeConf.sh file in /opt/gnome/lib... not
found
configure: error: You need gnome to compile the
graphical user interface.
Hint: you also need the appropriate development
packages for gnome installed,
usually called gnome-dev, libgnome-dev or similar. You
can disable the
graphical user interface by providing the --disable-gui
switch to the
configure script.

After checking all the Gnome info, I discovered that
Gnome 2 no longer uses gnomeConf.sh. Instead it uses
pkgconfig.

I could probably fix the configure stuff if I could
only get a gnomeConf.sh file to figure out what's in it.

Or if there's a patch that would be good too.

unable to play sounds

I just downloaded and built Glame 1.0.1. When I opened
a sound and attempted to play it, I got an error that says
"Cannot play/record wave. audio-out: Could not open
audio device."

I checked the Audio I/O preferences, and the default
output plugin is set to oss_audio_out and the default
output device is plughw:0,0. If I switch the output plugin
to alsa, it gives me the same error. If I switch it to esd, it
gives me the error, "couldn't open esd-socket connection!"
and the command line says "Can't resolve host name
"plughw"!" if I run Glame from the command line. I've
tried replacing plughw with localhost, but I still get the error
message (without the "can't resolve host name" error). If
I try using my computer's name, it does the same thing
after freezing for a long time.

I am running Red Hat 9 with kernel 2.4.20-20.9.

ladspa problem

Glame 1.0.1 only sees SOME of my ladspa plugins
(noticable missing right now is freeverb). It sees for
example the first 5 plugins that begin with 'F', and then
nothing more until it gets to "G". and plugins beginning
with "L" just aren't there at all. Other programs (sweep,
audacity, ecawave) on my system see every plugin just fine
and they are installed in /usr/lib/ladspa (the normal place i
believe). Why would this be happening? Thanks.

I'm using Mnadrake 9.1.
