I have loved using gnaural for years but it has gotten progressively harder to keep Java running (for me, ymmv)

So I decided to rewrite Gnaural as a modern web app. You can try it here: https://gnaural.net

The source is available at https://github.com/Gnaural-Web

The web application will play offline as well and will read and write standard gnaural XML files.

Support Page is blank

you support blank page 8171 portal .
I downloaded GnauralJava.jar, started with

java -jar GnauralJava.jar

On my debian 12.11, but I have no sound when I press "Play" (VU Meter shows that works, see please the picture).

Can please someone help me ?

Thanks !

I have a problem with Gnaural (or Audacity for that matter). I know binaural beats work for me, because I can steadily get into amazing trance-like states when I do theta or alpha on brainaural.com, where I can hear a "pulse", "beat", or "wow-wow-wow". However, neither Gnaural or Audacity binaural beats do that for me. I get no effect and it sounds as just noise, no pulse, beat or wow-wow-wow. I have also tried the instructions as per
https://gnaural.sourceforge.net/help/
"Often when starting a session I'll quickly test my headphone connection by pulling one side off my head; the "wow-wow-wow" should disappear isntantly then reappear when put it back on. But if I still hear a "wow-wow-wow" sound with one side off, my headphones weren't plugged-in to my computer or MP3 player, mixing the stereo output to mono."
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting in Gnaural I am not using properly? Even the default schedule doesn't have a pulse or a beat, again, just continuous sound and no effect. It's a pity, since Gnaural has a wealth of features I'd like to take advantage of.
Any help appreciated!

Joining forces with or help maturing another OSS on neuromodulation

Dear Gnaural staff,

for years I've been thinking on writing you because Gnaural is such an inspiration.

I've developed different neuromodulation software gadgets along the years,
and IMHO this one is worth the time to use and take it forward:
https://audiovisualmedicine.github.io/

Would it be of interest to the Gnaural community to have a similar Gnaural flavour?
Or would some or any of you like to help us mature the initiative into something more user
friendly, and even more effective?

Ideally, audiovisualMedicine will reach a larger audience and a higher level of usability.
We make ourselves available to get together in a video meeting to discuss it further, but here in the Forum is also nice!

Cheers,
R.

Base

AFAIK, it's designed to loop around like that, so the first point ends up being the last.

Base

Amazing software, thanks a lot! I would like to create a different END of the baseline which is different from the beginning. Right now the beginning and end are always the same. How can I do that?

Latest Source?

Though for all else who are following, the latest available Java source (which is the old Java Applet code) does produce different output WAV files than the latest available GnauralJava (the very first closed-source GPL-licensed project! congrats @gnaural).

Maybe something sine or cosine, look at the top row, which is the latest gnauraljava and the bottom row, which is the latest-available gnauraljavaapplet source.

At then at the end of the audio here, see how we're actually missing a fraction of a second too.

Not sure if the problem is in the WAVWriteThread or BinauralBeatSoundEngine class.
Now that source is three years older than the latest C-source (2015 vs 2018). And even though there haven't been too many changes to gnaural since 2011 (besides raindrops and water effects being added), something was changed enough to make the audio files differ. Next we'll have to compare the C code to see if it does the same.

Android source code?

Thirded
