Else your readers will get:

ubuntu:gpsdproxy-0.1.0> make
cc -c -o gpsdproxy.o gpsdproxy.c
gpsdproxy.c:34:17: fatal error: gps.h: No such file or directory

So the full instructions are more like
--------------------------------------------------------
Install libgps and the development headers (sudo install libgps-dev on ubuntu or debian)
make && make install

Transmission does not resume if connection fails and resumes

I run gpsdproxy on my OpenMoko FreeRunner.

If the GPRS connection is stopped and resumed later, the data transmission is not resumed.

I traced the UPD packets outgoing through the GPRS connection (ppp0 interface): it seems that the source address switches to 192.168.0.202 (usb0 interface) and does not switch back to the public IP address when the ppp connection is resumed.

Closing and reopening the UDP socket should solve this problem.

Host hangs on shutdown

I installed gpsdproxy and the associated start/stop script on my FreeRunner (OpenMoko 2008.12).

When I issue an halt or reboot command, the shutdown sequence does not proceed.

I suspect that the program should fork detaching stdin/out/err, e.g. using the daemon(3) call.
