trackanalyzer AverageSpeedWhileMoving

Hi,

I downloaded and tried gpstools today. I am looking for a tool that will take a GPX file containing a recorded track, and that will calculate the average speed excluding the breaks that I took. So I ran \"gpsdings trackanalyzer -v 1 track.gpx\". But while the AverageSpeedWhileMoving should be approximately 21 km/h, it outputs 12 km/h. I have attached the GPX. Note that near the end of the track, there is a one hour break. What am I doing wrong?

Unparseable GPX from GPS stone

Error converting gpx file generated by GPS stone

java -jar gpsdings.jar gpxkml Gps_stone-new.gpx

java.io.IOException: Error parsing GPX. Make sure that the input is in GPX 1.1 format.

The problem is the positions of tags "time" and "ele". By default GPS Stone puts "ele" after "time'

But gpstools doesn't like it

If I switch the position of the two tags

gpstools can convert it to kml

openlayers : default layer

I am using gpsdings.jar openlayers to generate HTML and JS files but when I add many layers, GMap is always the default. How can I change that and choose which one I want as the default layer ?

I am unable to use .properties files with the software as supplied. Specifically I want to scale or resize the svg image. Is there a real problem or is it my lack of understanding?

multiple GPX input files

Hi,

I have several GPX files covering a week of tracking or so. I now want to tag my pictures using exifloc. As exifloc doesn't allow wildcards for gpx input: What is the best way to combine multiple GPX tracklogs into a single big file? Merging all trkpts? Opening a new trkseg for each log? Or even start a new trk?

org.exolab.castor.xml.MarshalException

Hi Moritz,

the attached GPX file with the command

java -jar gpsdings.jar shrink GPSDATA-20080731.gpx

causes the following exception:

org.exolab.castor.xml.MarshalException: unable to find FieldDescriptor for 'name' in ClassDescriptor of gpx{File: [not available]; line: 5; column: 9}
Caused by org.xml.sax.SAXException: unable to find FieldDescriptor for 'name' in ClassDescriptor of gpx

The GPX file is conforms to the GPX schema.

Problem with exifloc (large gpx file)

When I run exifloc with a large gpx file I get this error
