This sounds like it belongs in a bug repport. I suggest you open a bug in Tickets --> Bugs.

I tried V3.7.0 and had the same results. No errors, Process is uninterruptible. This version worked OK with Ubuntu 16.04 so it looks like it is related to something that changed with Ubuntu. But since there are no error messages I have no idea how to troubleshoot this one, Suggestions are welcome...

Compiled 4.0.1 on Ubuntu 18.04 with no errors. But when I run grip, it does not display the GUI. If I run it from the console I get no errors. But the process is uninterruptible and I am unable to kill it...

I second Keith's comment. grip is fantastic, it is the best CD ripper ever for Unix. I've been using it since . . . . . . . I don't even remember how long. I used DigitalDJ as well, until Mike abandoned it, then when ddj would no longer compile any more, I wrote my own DigitalDJ re-implementation, PerlJammer. I wrestled with grip bug #397 for quite a while, until suddenly new Grip versions started appearing. Thanks to all involved in reviving it. Long may it live!

I run it with a patch that adds the WinAmp 5.6 extended genre list, and have been doing so for years. I just submitted a feature request with that patch attached. It applies cleanly to anything from grip-3.3.1 to the current grip-3.6.3, since the code it patches has not changed.

Thanks so much for reviving this project! I've always used GRIP on my computers that use Gnome. I can't seem to get it to work on a virtual Gnome... despite my /dev/sr0 working and set in the GRIP config. Any advice?
