I just checked the relevant section and you are quite correct. I've modified
the manual as you've suggested.

Thanks for the feedback, it all helps.

I've got several builds of wxWidgets installed on my system for testing so I explicitly specify the wxWidgets config. utility to run. It never occured to me that this isn't ideal for everyone else. I've modified the build system so that it's no longer hard coded except in debug mode.

Thanks for the tip.

I activated those, disabled the others, and now it's built. I then did
sudo make install
then
gspiceui
and it starts up.

KST support

I've applied your patch to the current code base. Had to do it by hand because too much time had passed (my fault) but it's in the code base now. Unfortunately I'm unable to fully test it fully because I can't install Kst on my Archlinux system. The install breaks for some reason. It'll get tested in the fullness of time no doubt.

I'm trying to install gspiceui_v1.2.36 on my PC working under Windows10 by following the instructions on the "install" file that I obtained with the installation package.

I followed all the steps and everything worked till reaching the point:

...
      *Build wxWidgets :
          make MONOLITHIC=1 SHARED=0 UNICODE=1 BUILD=release DEBUG_FLAG=0
...

Then, I got the error message shown in the attached file.

Could you help me to find out how to fix the problem?

Thank you in advance.

How to build GNU Spice GUI on windows

Hi an RF Engineer.

This is about using this wonderful program for actual simulations (as opposed to helping with its development -- I am feeling quite a bit selfish and apologetic for not being able to help with the development and only wanting to start using the program, to which its authors have dedicated so much time and effort).

HERE IS MY POINT:

I would like to use GNU Spice GUI in my hobby work for some simulations, but I cannot code sufficiently well in C++/C/C# in order to be able to compile its code under Windows -- in fact I do not have a proper development environment for C++/C/C# on any of the machines that I own and I have not compiled a C++/C program for ages (I am an expert in VBA/VB/PB and other antiques, but I have limited C++/C/C# understanding).

For this reason, I am wondering whether there are other engineers like me (perhaps experts in their own field, but not proficient enough in C++/C/C#), who would like to use GNU Spice GUI and for whom the barrier of needing to compile it is too high. If this is so, would it merit the effort to put on this project the compiled binaries for Windows? Conversely, if this is inappropriate (e.g. if putting the binaries here would dilute or pollute this project), then would it merit the effort of creating a separate project in which just to keep the compiled binaries? (I have never created a project under SourceForge because I cannot develop software, but in this case I will be willing to donate my time and help with creating such a project and if need be also help with administering it, provided that there is someone who will be willing to donate the binaries).

All help is welcomed and will be appreciated, and many thanks in advance for any comments.
