Over
the past year or two, significant issues have arisen with the wxWidgets/GTK toolkit. However, with
the latest release of the wxWidgets/GTK toolkit, these problems appear to have been resolved so
development has recommenced.

I have also investigated whether there is still a need for a tool like gSpiceUI. While there are
alternatives (eg. KiCad or Qucs) that offer more integrated solutions, a need still remains in the
context of Lepton-EDA and Ringdove-EDA (since gEDA is no longer maintained), as they do not yet
provide simulation functionality. Additionally, gSpiceUI offers a relatively straight forward GUI
for NG-Spice and GNU-Cap which can be used to evaluate these simulation engines.

For the time being, I have decided to focus on fixing bugs and ensuring that the existing features
and functions work as intended. This will involve responding to bug reports from users as well as
reviewing my own bug lists. I don't expect there will be much in the way of new features. However
there will be at least one notable exception ie. implementing Gnuplot as a data viewing utility.

The current release has not been fully tested, but it should be fundamentally sound. Any feedback
from users would be greatly appreciated.

New release, version 1.2.87

A new release of gSpiceUI has been uploaded.
