After opening a file, use the same path for "save as"

I just wanted to request a feature in terms of usability when opening and saving files under a different name. Consider the the following procedure:

a) A file is opened either by double clicking on it, when jPicEdt is associated with the proper file extension, or by using "File" -> "Open" from the Menu
b) Apply changes to the file in jPicEdt
c) Save the file under a different name using "File" -> "Save as". In this case the default path is proposed to save the file at. To me it would make more sense to propose the same path as the original file is opened at a).

Swing is no longer maintained, and javaFX is now the official API for graphical interface.

I am not forgetting this issue, I am progressing, but it takes time. I think that I have found some fix: see my today's comment on bug 75 for more on this if you are inteterested in the gory details.

Please have a look at today's comment on bug 75. This may make the problem less annoying to you, and by the way, this confirms my analysis — unfortunately I did not find yet the time to fix it.

Hello,
This is a bug, not a new feature. I think that it has the same root cause as bug 75.
Java graphic libraries do not offer standard way to have modal internal frames. jPicEdt had its own implementation that was working with older java toolkit. But with java 8 there were bug fixes on combo boxes in modal dialogs which broke jPicEdt implementation.
So, sorry, I can just say be patient. This bug 75 is next on my list, currently it is on hold because I am working at maintenance of several other free S/W. Hopefully I come back to it by the end of this year & I can fix it.

I use jPicEdt a lot for my publications and my everyday work in preparing lecture notes. I like jPicEdt a lot and I would thus contribute to improve jPicEdt.

In the previous version 1.4.1_03 it was possible change text by pressing F2 and hitting ENTER after changing the text. In the current version 1.6_pre1 hitting ENTER to confirm the change is not working any more. This is a great drawback on my opinion, since it slows down the workflow by extra using the mouse.

My system configuration is Linux MInt 18, 64bit.

CVS is outdate and no longer actively supported by Sourceforge. Migration to a more modern SCM is encouraged.
