Klavaro Touch Typing Tutor News

We are close to release the first beta version of Klavaro. And this branch it will remain there forever, as we are going to work on a new, one based on the version 2.0 of GTK+. This will allow us to port to Windows in some near future.

Now "Klavaro" is almost complete. All the projected features are functioning.

That's it. Now we start to wait for the bugs...

There won't be announcements here for each realease anymore. Only the great changes will be posted.

Now you can enjoy esperanto in Klavaro!

In the next release, we will try to make the code more clear and add a debian package (.deb).

Now we have progress charts for all the exercises and a virtual keyboard online help for the basic course.

The next step is to add an esperanto translation for the program.

Now we have also the fluidness exercises.

To come not very soon: gtypist's exercises.

Now we have a velocity exercise enabled.
Typing random words of your own language may be very fun.

One more feature added:

• Adaptability exercise.

I've tried to compile the project on Windows, using MinGW, MSYS and Gtk+ but I didn't succeed.

I found out that on Windows I must use Gtk+ >= 2.0. As the system I use is a stable Debian GNU/Linux (woody), I can't use the package "glade-2", which supports Gtk+ > 2.0. So we'll have to wait a little bit the migration to the sarge version of Debian. Then maybe we can compile a Win package.... read more
