my limited understanding is that work on Komposer stopped a long time ago (2009?) and is sort of replaced by Mozilla Seamonkey which is maintained and works in both windows and linux (Debian). So you could try seamonkey. I downloaded Komposer into windows today and found it worked but the Seamonkey interface is much better and i prefer the raw HTML produced by seamonkey which is marginally better.

For what its worth - my interest is to get a WYSIWYG html editor that work on raspberrypi - with an arm chip != x86. Because I have been using netscape/seamonkey to produce all my docs since 1999. Someone managed to compile seamonkey for an arm chip in an od version of Denian maybe 5 years ago but it didnt compile on recent version of debian I am told.

Best wishes

Are you using Kompozer to actually upload your web pages and thus having a problem in that way or are you looking for a way to insert something in a web page directly from the program?

I am pretty sure that no further work is being done to this program but it shouldn't really make any difference. If there is a need to insert any code into a web page, it can be added manually.

It has been a long time since I have used Kompozer, but if your problem is the former, then may I suggest using Filezilla to upload your web pages. That should take care of any SSL requirements.

Let me know if you have more specifics.

Cheers,
This pop-up has recently crippled use of Kompozer on my CoSy.com . I have checked that it happens on other websites like mail-chimp . I see this problem has occurred for a couple of years , eg: Simon Waltho - 2023-10-11 . It's apparently due to recent use of SSL .

My bet is it could be quickly cured by anybody who knows the code , and has permission .

It is a shame that such a great program for which I have yet to find an alternative , is crippled by such a minor issue .

Not Pulling Images - though this was WYSIWYG

I recently found the html folders for a Website I built almost 2 decades ago with Dreamweaver and posted it to the backend of my blog. Since I no longer have Dreamweaver, nor can I find a free version, I searched online for Dreamweaver WYSIWYG alternatives at alternativeto.net.

The only true WSIWYG option for free (or minimal cost) seems to have been KompoZer.

HOWEVER . . . when I open pages in KompoZer, only the text comes up, and the /index page doesn't show anything at all, and the formatting is off.

I am attaching 2 images for the page C.htm. The colorful one is the one posted online, and the other is what I see when I open the same page in KompoZer.

The site is posted at https://pearsonally.com/vampire

Please, someone tell me what I am doing wrong and how I can make this a true html/htm editor, which pulls up in the editor the page as I want it to look when posted up online. And, yes, I have been through "kompozer 1 to 12 tutorial" on YouTube.

Please and Thank You.

I can ignore the error, and all the editing and publishing functions work, but I cannot view any images, including those used to format the page.It defeats the advantages of WISIWIG. The web page works fine for users, it is just when loaded by Kompozer.

Can't connect securely to archive.org

"because the site uses a security protocol which isn't enabled'
How can I change this first line ?
