a installed libayemu in calling of ayemu_start() with -layemu.<br />
nm /lib/<installpath>/libayemu*|grep ayemu<br />
does indeed show, that a correctly installed libayemu<br />
doesn't contain any symbols matching ayemu_start.<br />
Replacing ayemu_start() in the configure script with<br />
an (indeed existant) ayemu_init() solved the problem: <br />
configure wouldn't complain about a missing libayemu anymore and compilation would just work as smoothly.<br />
My system is Debian/GNU-Linux, gcc-4.1, libayemu-0.9.5, xmms-vtx-0.8.1.<br />
