Lx-Viewer 0.99f released

A new version of Lx-Viewer has been released, which has added features.

Just to recap: LX-Viewer is a program that will allow you to open, view and print DWG or DXF files, typically used in AutoCAD related technical drafting. You may zoom and pan the drawing as you would in AutoCAD. Files can be saved to DWG or DXF formats from AutoCAD version 2.5 to 2000 plus BMP and PNG formats

Major changes are:
Addition of batch plotting feature to allow plotting (printing) of multiple files with a single command.

The latest version of Lx-Viewer, 0.99e , has been released. We expect this to be one of the last releases before 1.0. Major changes are:

1) pan up, down, left, right now available.

2) option to select white background available.

3) Batching from command line completely updated (currently implemented only
for reporting).

4) Progress bar now displays what it is measuring.

5) new icons added to various menu's.

Main changes in 0.99(d):
* SVG file output support

* Internal command line much improved

* Added a visual command history record to the internal command entry bar. display a history." (eg the command entry section should be very similar in use to AutoCAD)

* totally new locations for /pcp and /fonts directories under the users home directory.

* PGP file used to store each users command aliases.

* Command bar whitespace bug fixed

* Also fixed - unrecognized commands are flagged in both the text window and this new command history window.

* misc. menu re-arrangements and icons.

Lx-Viewer 0.98a ported to Windows

The CAD file viewer and conversion utility Lx-Viewer has now been ported from Linux to Windows, it is available for download at:

Typical uses included opening, viewing and printing AutoCAD DWG and DXF files and converting to different versions and file formats.

This windows port is of a stable release of the lx-viewer code but should be treated as a development version.

LX-Viewer Version 098 released

This is the first "stable" version that uses the QT 3.0.5 and OpenDWG 2.008 libraries. Biggest new feature from 0.96 is the reporting (located under the file menu).

We have also removed the ability to save as an XPM format file and replaced it with a save to PNG format file. PNG files are very compressed where XPM are just the opposite.

There is also a reporting feature now available. The reporting can be set to open report on all drawing files in a directory using command line arguments.

dwg to dxf command utility updated

Version 2.0 of our command line utility program which converts dwg files to dxf files has been released. Changes include the ability to now specify the dxf file version to be saved, and it is also no longer necessary to supply an output file name. There are now also some help files bundled with the package.

LX-Viewer 0.96 released

LX-Viewer version 0.96 is now available. This version fixes many bugs (particularly with metric plotting), improves the useability of several features, and adds a full layer dialog dialog control. As usual there is a pre-compiled version plus the source code version.

Version 094 available

The newest version of the Linux Drawing Viewer has been posted [17 Mar 02]. This version now has the ability to plot drawings to scale to a Postscript or to file and also has the ability to toggle various layer states (on/off, freeze/thaw, etc).

As for the 0.92 release there are 2 versions available, one source and one compiled.
