I am also looking for this function. It should be possible to provide lossfree rotation via jpeglib and a patch of the input_uvc plugin. But my C programming knowledge is not sufficient.
Does anyone have a hint how th patch could look like?

Please provide tthe ability to rotate the image by (90, 180, 270) degrees. This is useful when the USB camera cannot be mounted in its preferred orientation.

Hi everyone!!!
need a little help here,i am up to adding some more functionalities in MJPG-streamer web interface to control the stream like record,image capture,brightness etc.
which code file i'm supposed to edit to add extra feature.
any help would be highly appericiated.

Different resolution for stream and static images?

As a user
I want to configure different resolutions for streams and static images
So that I can push the user experience to the maximum, taken bandwidth into consideration

I didn't analyze (yet) the source code, neither the inner behavior of webcams.
I doubt that I could reach the above goal to hack two differently configured separate instances of mjpg-streamer onto my system and connect them to the same webcam simultaneously. On the other hand I'm also unsure of the feasibility to hack the code and webcam capabilities, to communicate (even simultaneously) with the webcam, requesting different resolutions for different output types (e.g. streams and static images).

To install, just run

git clone git@github.com:austinHaigh/mjpg-streamer-output_cgi.git
cd mjpg-streamer-output_cgi
make

and copy the newly created .so file to your plugins/ directory. Check the README for bugs.
