Even so, I tried in Windows and Linux using files with 0, 1, 2, 5 images, and none crashed for me. So let me try with one of your files.

That's the thing, it does it with every file. I've tried over a dozen files, from all sorts of sources, some I know for a fact had it done to them before, and now, with this version, they all result in that error message.

Regarding "mp3diags-build": It exists on my C: drive, because that is where I built it. I guess it would be nicer to not include the full path, but it's harmless. Back to the real problem: I tried this on several of my files and it seems OK. So, can you send me a file that causes this?

Problem is ALL files are showing even if I add things to "ignore". It shows the files without any issues as well.

I'm not sure I get it. If you want to see all the files that have "some" non-igored issue, I'd say this should work: 1. Add to the ignored notes the ones you don't care about (which you did) 2. Open the note filter and move all notes from "Available" to "Include", using the "Add all notes" button - https://mp3diags.sourceforge.net/unstable/170_note_filter.html 3. Close the filter If you want to see files that have a particular note, it's similar, but just add that note in the filter.

I have ignored all the notes types that are not important to me. But those files are still shown in the file list. Is there a way to show only files that have a note (that is not ignored). So that I can see only files that have trouble?

The problem is in line 3836, which should be Note, not Notes Also, these probably don't matter for anything other than consistency, but: in line 3 the language should be pl_PL, and the file should be named mp3diags_pl.ts (lowercase)

OK, so the I: drive is an internal drive? These kind of issues were observed on non-internal drives (USB, NAS, ...) and there is a fix for this in the version unstable-1.5.03.exe at https://sourceforge.net/projects/mp3diags/files/unstable/mp3diags-windows-setup/ So, even if your drive is internal, can you try 1.5.03 and see if it makes a difference?

Hello everyone, I found this tool while looking for a way to repair this .mp3 file I downloaded. I previously identified that it seems to skip, and upon using MP3 Diags I found out that these skips seem to correspond to sections of "Unknown" type, which apparently occur at regular intervals. I noticed that many of my .mp3 files no longer have embedded images. I know they once had them because the folders all have the Folder.jpg files that WMP generates. So my question is: Can I use MP3 Diags to somehow copy the Folder.jpg files into the .mp3 files? But not one at a time since I have very many files to fix.

Update: turns out it happens after Winamp or more precisely WACUP making changes to the tags. For some reason the way it writes APE Tags is not recognised as valid by MP3 Diags, while it is recognised fine by MP3Gain, and all other tagging SW I've tried. So it looks like a false positive.

I downloaded a bunch of files from aprilwinchell.com, but there doesn't seem to be much special about the ones I could download. Judging by the file size, which is listed for many files, I'd expect the smaller ones to contain data in more exotic formats, which is what I actually wanted, but they all seem to be on Hostropolis, which is down. Shell Integration is not quite what you asked, but it can be used to some extent for the same purpose. I updated the documentation up to Windows 11, which will make it on the official site at some point, but can be seen at github until then. Please take a look and let me know what you think.

The latest unstable version (1.5.03) added support for MPEG 2.5, which covers a good deal of the previously unsupported files. Is 1.5.03 the version you tried? The 1.5.03 version can be found here.

OK, I think I get it now. For one thing, your file doesn't have pipes, as can be seen in the attached screenshot. (Well, one's background is important in interpreting the screenshot, but hopefully it helps.) Regarding the issues of 2.4.0, I don't have a clear recollection, but it was something like this: Popular editors and players disagreed on what the implementation was supposed to be for some feature, and many didn't conform to the published standard.
