Weekly Update: 1

Weekly Update: 1

Greetings from the inter web this is the first in what will be a normal weekly update, the goal of this to improve communication and hep build a strong community.

I know the mpass wiki has bad grammar, and frankly its a bit embarrassing. It hasn’t reflected the care and polish I put into the code itself, and I apologize for leaving you searching through the dumpster fire and half-baked guides that is the wiki.

I have been working on a full overhaul of every page. Installation instructions will be crystal clear.
No more sloppy formatting or missing details—just a streamlined, up-to-date knowledge base you can rely on.

I will be changing the layout to have

  1. User guide
  2. Development Guide
  3. packaging guide

these will be the start of a improved wiki this will take some time and will be a slow but well done refactor of the wiki.

I’ll also be improving communication on the blog with

  1. weekly updates
  2. Release announcement
  3. Bug fix announcement

these will form the basics of what will be the blog.

What are the three

Weekly updates

these will be updates every week on the Projects with a focus on what we have been doing over the week and what we will be working on in the coming week.

This should help to improve where we are in the project and given the bugs and odd releases we have had it makes sense to fix it now as things are sloppy and need to be improved.

Release announcement

these will be whenever there is a release coming it will be for Major and Minor updates patches and bug fixes will not be included they will be part of the Bug fix announcement.

Bug fix announcement

This will be for whenever there is a bug fix or a patch these are in the coming minor lease less common to none at all the goal is to not have to have anymore bug fixes as we shouldn't be shipping bugs.

Versioning Explained

we use the standard Semantic Versioning for Mpass at this time.

What is Semantic Versioning

this is a three part system often seen as 2.4.6 which means Major.Minor.Patch

What we've done

We have been working on 1.1.0 and it has been much smoother and cleaner then 1.0.0 and have seen many improvements to the code base and to the UI.

So far we have added new features to the configuration file

ui.menu.foreground
ui.menu.focused.background
ui.menu.focused.foreground
ui.banner.background

ui.database.navigation.panel.background

ui.database.navigation.panel.banner.background
ui.database.navigation.panel.banner.foreground
ui.database.detail.panel.background
