The problem seems to go away when I get rid of my NetBeans user configuration and caches folders, basically resetting NetBeans to a fresh install. Then, when I add a PrimeFaces as a Library, it will get detected properly by the CRUD Generator. This is weird to say the least. I have been carrying over my settings from previous NetBeans versions, so to see this is kind of a bummer for those who have heavily customized the NetBeans over the years.

What this also tells me is that it's really a NetBeans problem rather than a problem with the CRUD Generator. So with that in mind, I will close this ticket again.

I've tried too debug the generator project, and the weirdest thing is that when the DEBUG IDE starts and I perform the same steps, the generator properly detects the library. This makes it very hard for me to test.

The CRUD Generator tries to detect whether PrimeFaces has been added to the web project and what version it is. Currently, it seems to fail at detecting the PrimeFaces library when it was added via the "Add Library" from the Libraries node inside a project, which gives users a list of libraries that are defined in NetBeans. It will, however, detect, PrimeFaces properly if the user adds simply the PrimeFaces JAR file to the project via the "Add JAR/Folder" menu item.

I have identified the issue. When using PrimeFaces 5.0, the Edit.xhtml and Create.xhtml files are missing a PF('') reference for the dialog in the call to handleSubmit. Short term fix while I am working on a new release, change the following line to get the dialog to get properly handled (e.g. here for Edit.xhtml):
