The documentation for the TORCH2 electronic health record application has been updated for the alpha2 release. There are also annotated screen shots availabel to provide a basic roadmap of how to use the system.

Open Paradigms is currently working on TORCH2, the next iteration of TORCH, an open sourced electronic medical record. Per Tim, "I have narrowed my focus to concentrate on the production of TORCH2. I am still available for workshops, installation, training and consulting services."

With the new scheduler and Free Form Templates, 1.3.0 represents a huge step forward in usability.

The new scheduler available in TORCH 1.3.0 uses the CMF calendar capability to provide each user with a private calendar. By publishing events and appointments they become visible across the group schedule. Multiple views assist in scheduling for maximum effectiveness. The link to a patient record is embedded in the appointment so the provider loads the patient record from the appointment listing, saving an additional search. TORCH is a template or free text driven, GPL'd Electronic Health Record application. Scalable from one physician to multi-site clinics. This update improves the script handling in the template system and includes some great examples. See http://www.openparadigms.com for more information.
