Serena PPM 2009 R1 with OpenProj Integration

The Serena Team has been working hard over the last year to take the best in class Microsoft Project equivalent project scheduling functionality of OpenProj and integrate it into our Serena Project Portfolio Management (PPM) product. We are proud to announce that we have successfully released Serena PPM 2009 R1 with the integrated OpenProj functionality including the ability to import OpenProj (.pod) project files into Serena PPM. This means you can still use OpenProj to build project schedules offline on your desktop and import your OpenProj project files into our online web based Serena PPM product to collaborate with team members and provide stakeholder visibility. Please signup for a free trial of Serena PPM to try it out.

Open Source replacement of Microsoft Project is now being used in over 142 countries and is the fastest growing project application

San Mateo, CA June 16, 2008 -- Projity, the leader in SaaS and open source project management software announced today that over 500,000 copies of OpenProj have been downloaded. OpenProj is the fastest growing application in the project marketplace with over 60,000 new downloads monthly. The OpenProj solution is replacing commercial applications in over 142 countries around the world. The usage in both small business and Fortune 500 companies is accelerating rapidly around the world. Projity's new users this quarter included AIG, Analog Devices, Atos Origin, BAE Systems, Bank of America, BearingPoint, Bell Helicopter, Cap Gemini, CH2M Hill, Cisco, EDS, Fujitsu, General Electric, Hewlett Packard, Honeywell, IBM, Martin Marietta, Nortel, Oracle, SAIC, Siemens, Sonoco, Sun Microsystems, Toshiba, Wipro and many others.

“The Projity team is very pleased OpenProj has now been downloaded over 500,000 times since our launch earlier this year. The Projity impact is reaching users in companies of all sizes and in over 142 countries. Our global users have a free and open source alternative that is a complete replacement of their proprietary desktop solutions. Projity's open source and SaaS model is disrupting commercial project software vendors” noted Marc O'Brien, CEO Projity.

OpenProj usage is increasing rapidly and has now been translated into over a dozen languages. The OpenProj replacement of commercial project management applications is highly disruptive for existing vendors and important to the entire industry. Project management software is installed on over 7% of all Office desktops. OpenProj completes the alternative Office suites so companies can now replace their entire Office suite with open source and SaaS alternatives. Projity's solutions seamlessly open native Microsoft Project files so migrating is immediate. OpenProj is available on Linux, Unix, Mac or Windows so users can also choose their platform. Companies are now migrating their entire Office suite to either SaaS or open source with the addition of Project-ON-Demand and OpenProj.

About Projity:

Projity is a Silicon Valley and French company with offices in San Mateo and Paris. Projity currently has two solutions: Project-ON-Demand (SaaS) and OpenProj (open source). Projity solutions are used by over 500,000 project managers in over 142 countries around the world. Projity, OpenProj and Project-ON-Demand are trademarks of Projity Incorporated. Other names used may be trademarks of their respective owners.

Star Office now includes OpenProj in Europe

OpenProj is now being included in Star Office boxes in twelve European countries. The addition of OpenProj is important as Star Office competes with Microsoft Office and others in the desktop Office marketplace.

OpenProj is a complete replacement of Microsoft Project which is installed on 7% of all Office desktops. This has been a major competitive advantage until the release of OpenProj which is free and available on Linux, Unix, Mac or Windows. This is significant as Project retails for $999 and is installed on 7% of all Office desktops. The OpenProj solution has been downloaded more than 400,000 times in over 142 countries. A recent InfoWorld review noted "OpenProj performs all the essential tasks you'd do with a desktop project management application. That, and cross-platform availability, would justify Projity charging even a portion of Microsoft Project's $999 price tag. But with OpenProj's free access, it's just one more compelling case for going open source on the desktop."

OpenProj's inclusion with Star Office is important validation as the leading open source project management solution.

Open Source replacement of Microsoft Project is now publicly released on Linux, Unix, Mac or Windows. There were over 200,000 beta testers of OpenProj in more than 132 countries

San Mateo, CA January 17, 2008 -- Projity, the leader in SaaS and open source project management software announced today the general availability of OpenProj 1.0. The OpenProj solution is a complete replacement of Microsoft Project and is available on Linux, Unix, Mac or Windows. OpenProj has equivalent functionality and opens native Microsoft Project files. Projity announced the initial OpenProj beta in the Fall, over 200,000 users joined the beta testing in over 132 countries. The global project management community continues to rapidly adopt OpenProj with tens of thousands of new users each week.
The global reach of the Projity's solutions is creating a tremendous disruption for existing software vendors.
