Ophcrack 3.8.0 has been released. This version is compatible with Qt5 and replaces Qwt by Qt5Charts for displaying the charts in the GUI version.

The source code is now hosted on Gitlab.

Ophcrack 3.7.0 has been released. This version improves the table preloading and cracking strategy. We removed pwdump6 integration as well since it was not working correctly on the latest versions of Windows. Latest version of ophcrack for Windows is compiled statically allowing us to remove the installer and provide portable versions for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.

The source code is now hosted on Gitlab.

Ophcrack 3.6.1 has been released to make it compatible with OpenSSL 1.1.0. Windows and LiveCD versions are not affected by this bug and were not updated.

It shows 3 Windows partitions with hashes and tells me to select the partition to crack. Do I select each one and see what happens?

We uploaded a version of Ophcrack compiled for Windows 64-bit platforms. This version can preload tables using the whole RAM available instead of only 2GB on 32-bit platforms. Thanks to Andy Vandijck for its support!

Ophcrack 3.6.0 released

Ophcrack 3.6.0 and the corresponding LiveCD including the new probabilistic tables have been released. Ophcrack preloading has been rewritten to fix issues found in the version 3.5.0. Support of the probabilistic tables was improved as well.

Ophcrack version 3.5.0 is ready to download. This version adds the support of the new probabilistic tables. These tables will be available soon and mix patterns and Markov to crack the most probable passwords.

We will give a talk at SSTIC 2013 to present these tables in depth.
