Sometimes I need to add empty line to set apart
sections in long files' list. I wonder if for example
the character ";" could be a comment identifier and
everything started from ; is ignored. For example:

;
C:\Folder2\\\*

C:\Folder3\\\*

Option for no compression

I use Peters Backup also for pictures in JPEG format and music in FLAC format. Since these are already compressed formats, compressing them again doesn't gain any space.

Could the backup of such files be made faster with an option that prohibits the compression? So that you can for example write:

nice programm. I like it but there is one big
disadvantage: The backups are not protected by a
password or something like that.

That is the reason why I don't use MS Backup \(and
because it is not compressing\).

Since now I am using a self written Batch in
combination with 7-zip to encrypt the backup-files.

Does your ZIP-lib support this and can you include the
possibility to encrypt with a password?

Thanks

I would suggest using the berkeley DB to sort the
filenames into nodes. It's a free very fast open source

you like...

Restore / Backup set/ cancel

When pressing Restore/Backup set and then cancel

First of all let me congratulate you with version 2, just
started testing it and it looks great with that new
unattended feature \!
I noticed one minor thing. As with many things it's not
clear if this should come into the feature or bug area:

I made a large backup \(18GB in one file on a network
disk\) and when wanting to do an incremental backup, it
just seemed to hang. I noticed the network activity, so
it waited because it was probably reading the 18GB file.

Can you add a progress bar or some kind of "I'm still
alive" indication ? A cancel button would come in handy
also there \(and then opening of the file would be
aborted\). I can't remember if it was when I clicked
the "incremental backup" radio button or when I opened
the incremental backup savefile \(I think it was then\).

Kind regards,
Tom

somewhere. When checked the warnings that go into
the log file should not come on screen in a message box
\(only the log\). So if a file can't be opened, it would
automatically select ignore instead of popping up and
waiting for the user.
The 2 GB limit popup should be gone too \(maybe create
a new file in the same directory or in a subdirectory
each time, e.g. subdir
filename.01,filename.02,filename03...\)

If this is implemented, the program would be of great
use for me \!
