Hello, yesterday I compiled and installed PDFedit 0.2.5 on my SuSE=20 9.3-64bit-box. After some problems (make was not able to find a=20 64-bit-lib) pdfedit was running on that pc. Unfortunately the program consums for actions 85 to 99 per cent of=20 my CPU-Power. Inside the box there is a AMD-Athlon-3000+. I don't know, if that problem would only be seen on my pc. I hope,=20 there should be a way to scale down the cpu-consume. If it is helpfull, I could sent an output of strace during the=20 pdfedit-session. pdfedit 0.2.5. suse 10.0 I don't see any icons in the tool bar, the "buttons" are available but no icons. I only see the buttons if I move the mouse overthem because of the tooltip. I can press them and they work. May be it is again a problem with access rights from the make install script. Where should I find the icons? any idea? hello, do not have time for this right now, but look at step by step example how to add scripts http://pdfedit.petricek.net/wiki/ScriptingAddNewScript in dialogs.qs in ./gui directory is the source for media box editing 27 function editPageMediaBox() { 28 29 if (!isPageAvaliable()) { 30 warn(tr("No page selected!")); 31 return; 32 } 33 34 // Get media box 35 var mediabox =3D page().mediabox(); 36 var xleft =3D mediabox[0]; 37 var yleft =3D mediabox[1]; 38 var xright =3D mediabox[2]; 39 var yright =3D mediabox[3]; 40 41 var dialog =3D createDialog (tr("Change page rectangle"), tr("Change")= , tr("Cancel"), tr("Page metrics")); 42 43 var gb =3D createGroupBoxAndDisplay (tr("Page metrics"), dialog); 44 var exl =3D createNumberEditAndDisplay(tr("Left upper corner")+", "+tr= ("x position")+"( "+PageSpace.getDefaultUnits()+" ): ", 45 PageSpace.convertUnits(xleft,"pt"),= gb); 46 var eyl =3D createNumberEditAndDisplay(tr("Left upper corner")+", "+tr= ("y position")+"( "+PageSpace.getDefaultUnits()+" ): ", 47 PageSpace.convertUnits(yleft,"pt"),= gb); 48 var exr =3D createNumberEditAndDisplay(tr("Right bottom corner")+", "+= tr("x position")+"( "+PageSpace.getDefaultUnits()+" ): ", 49 PageSpace.convertUnits(xright,"pt")= , gb); 50 var eyr =3D createNumberEditAndDisplay(tr("Right bottom corner")+", "+= tr("y position")+"( "+PageSpace.getDefaultUnits()+" ): ", 51 PageSpace.convertUnits(yright,"pt")= , gb); 52 if (!dialog.exec()) return; 53 54 // Save media box 55 page().setMediabox ( PageSpace.convertUnits( exl.value, undefined, "pt= " ), 56 PageSpace.convertUnits( eyl.value, undefined, "= pt" ), 57 PageSpace.convertUnits( exr.value, undefined, "= pt" ), 58 PageSpace.convertUnits( eyr.value, undefined, "= pt" )); 59 print (tr("MediaBox changed.")); 60 go (); 61 } the 55 line should be changed to=20 var i =3D 0; for (; i < document.getPageCount(); ++i) { document.getPage(i).setMediabox ( PageSpace.convertUnits( exl.value, undef= ined, "pt" ), PageSpace.convertUnits( eyl.value, undefined, "pt"= ), PageSpace.convertUnits( exr.value, undefined, "pt"= ), PageSpace.convertUnits( eyr.value, undefined, "pt"= )); } You can make it better cause units are converted each time etc.. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Raphaël Pinson <ra...@gm...> Date: Jan 28, 2007 11:32 PM Subject: PDFEdit Ubuntu package To: vid...@gm... Hi, I just saw PDFedit appear on kde-apps.org today and began to package it. I managed to build a package without any big issues, but I've got a licensing issue preventing me from getting it in Ubuntu: there is no copyright anywhere. GPLed programs need a copyright in the form of "Author/Team (C) 2006, 2007". It would also be good to provide a COPYING file in the root of the tarball (although you have doc/LICENCE.GPL already) and a copyright header in each source file (as stated on the GNU website [0]). Technically speaking now, I had to build the package with "make QTDIR=/usr/include/qt3" on Ubuntu as there is no --qtdir or --with-qtdir option in the configure file to set it and the qsa_check. I hope to hear from you soon, so we can get this great program in the next version of Ubuntu/Kubuntu. Thank you for this great project, and keep up the good work guys! Regards [0] http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html#SEC4 -- Raphaël Pinson <ra...@ra...> http://www.raphink.info |

Hello Michal, jsut to make it clear: on my SuSE machine, I have no problems compiling other qt3 applications, although I have both development packages installed: > rpm -q qt3-devel libqt4-devel qt3-devel-3.3.7-12 libqt4-devel-4.2.1-18 This issue could be solved by removing the qt4 related files. But it seems not to be neccessary. And it would be the more convenient way, if pdfedit compiles on systems with qt3 and qt4 too. kind regards, Rainer Michal Hocko schrieb: > > > On 1/29/07, *Andres Peratta* <ape...@we... > <mailto:ape...@we...>> wrote: > > In Suse 9.3, I had to set path to $QTDIR/bin:$PATH as well in order to > compile. You have to use also qmake specific for qt3 because this util sets correct include and library paths. PDFedit is not prepared for QT4 at this moment (that is on TODO list), so try to persuade your system to use qt3 only stuff for pdfedit compilation and everything should fork fine. -- Michal Hocko |
