There are several forks of it: 2048 and some 103*. Try "the other one" > install > uninstall if you still can't get rid of it, disable it inside its settings... and wait for a major Windows update. I had this problem already under XP and Win7 - sometimes I found out, sometimes I reinstalled Windows because it annoyed me so much. Good luck!

I've run the installer and selected "Remove". But right-click on a folder and the context menu still has several QTTabBar entrie. There's no "QTTabBar" in the registry.

I've tested this behavior a little and there are steps to reproduce this bug. 1. Search "query" in some folder (it's enough to type any character); 2. Delete your query in search field by backspace or "x" button / close tab; 3. Press "Maximize" or "Minimize" windows control button / explorer button on taskbar; After this your current tab will automatically search your "query" from step 1 in your current location. searching in window file explorer with numpad is extremely convenient, but with qttabar preview turned on it also turns on the sizing hotkey of preview picture (numpad 9 and 7 for up/down sizing) which prevent use of numpad to search in explorer. searching with regular numbering key on top of keyboard is much slower and inefficient, how can the numpad hotkey for qttabar preview be disabled?

Been using QtTabBar from http://qttabbar.wikidot.com/ for some years on Win7 and Win10. I rebuilt my PC to use Win11 (clean install, not an upgrade), and tried that extension, but it's pretty buggy. In all fairness, it is marked as beta, so can't expect too much yet. However, there doesn't seem to have been any activity there for a year or so, and the author didn't reply to an email, so it looks abandoned. The one major problem it has is that it ignores the fact that File Explorer itself now supports...

Subject says it all. Works fine for x264, but x265/HEVC fails, with error 0xC00D109B. The error only appears for a moment, and then the preview begins with only the sound playing, which makes it seem pretty clear that the software just isn't compatible with x265 yet. It is just as odd as the title reads. I have 4 tabs open with different drives/foders. In one, I did a search for "tripod" in File Explorer's upper-right search field. I then hit the "x" in the search field to end the search and hit "back" to go to the previous folder. I moved onto the next task and minimized the window. When I minimized it, it popped right back up from the taskbar and the current tab went into a search for "tripod". If I switch to a different tab and minimize, it will pop back up...

I still can't break myself from the habit of clicking there. It's already been a thing for so many years and suddenly my reflexes for recycling bin are thwarted. New user/tester here. This app seems very nice, and a lot of thought and effort seems to have been put into it. So a big thank you and much respect for the developer! I am running into a serious issue though. After having made some tweaks to get things to my liking, I now find that I can not close a window anymore by clicking on the close icon top right. Hello, I looked through the options menu in an attempt to disable this feature when you double left click on the background, it goes up a level of folders. I want to configure it such that it doesn't happen at all such that if I do double click it does nothing. I already have mouse controls to move between levels in tab history and I don't want to get confused with this feature. Thanks, Pedro! I found some groups and delete them. Also, I found an option "Start-up Group". If I will use groups, I will check not to use this option. You know that quick button that lets you make a quick command prompt that automatically CD's into the directory that you're in? I use it a lot. Especially with FFMPEG. But recently I've started using PowerShell a lot more. Is there any way to replace the shortcut to start PowerShell and CD into the directory that you're in, similar to the command prompt shortcut? Hi Since installing QTTabBar on my Windows 10 machine I have a text file that keeps opening whenever I restart the computer. The file contains the following text... **QTTabBar Desktop Extension StartUp** This file is for loading dlls at Shell start up, required to extend Desktop. This sometimes happens when I connect my android phone to my PC. When Windows automatically opens the window to my phone, 1 out of 3 times I get this error. Just installed QTTabBar. (I've been meaning to for quite some time). The only problem I'm having now is auto refresh seems to be broken. I have to manually refresh. I've done a good bit of searching, both this forum and Google, but to no avail. Any fix or help would be much appreciated!

Hey Lawrence, First, it seems this project is no longer in development, but I still have have it working in windows 10. To answer your question though, there is not a plus (+) button, but you can open a new tab by just double clicking on the tab bar (not a tab itself, but the empty tab bar space), this will make a copy of the current tab you have focused at the time. ok.. try this for example create some tabs and then lock each of it and try to close the explore by holding the ( shift ) and click the close. then try to open any folder you will get to see it is saved

I lock some tabs and lock the tab bar. Then I reboot and they've all gone! I would like to define a set of tabs and always have them showing, even after a reboot. Is this possible now? Am I missing something? Regards

Maybe I'm blind (no offence), but I cannot find a way to change color of the tabs... There is one for bar background, but with tabs all I can recolor is its text... Is there a way to do it? I'm asking coz it looks bad with dark Win10 theme...

Hi, I'm not sure if this is clear what is bothering me, I love QTTabBar in general, but as soon as I have installed it, when I change selected items using my keyboard arrow keys(up & down), when I reach the bottom, it returns back to the top most item. Now it's driving me crazy because I usually have folders with many files and I navigate through them fast to find something but this jump is a total distraction. Please let me know if there's a way to get rid of this behavior. I've searched the settings...

I have installed QTTabBar on Windows 10 Pro Build 1803, under File Explorer > View > Options I can see all toolbars but when I click them nothing happens. I tried all above solutions but nonhing helped. EDIT: This is a new PC. But I have another one with exactly the same system and everything is fine.

Apologies if this has been dealt with elsewhere - couldn't find it... If I use the Group (Star) button to open a favourite folder, it always opens an additional tab. I have multiple external drives plugged in, but only one of the drives info doesn't show in the ribbon. The drive works, but where it should say what the name of the drive is grayed out. I use font colors and it still doesn't show fot that one drive. What causes this and what can I do to make it work? Hi! I downloaded all available plugins and tried them to add into QTabBar - failed, no one plugin was shown in list. First time I browsed for folders with DLLs and added them all at once, after failure one-by-one and always not shown. Then I tried to drag'n'drop them, again - no one shown. Hi! I have installed QTabBar combined with Clover on Windows 10.1803 Pro x64. My problem is that I positioned views and bars, When I re-open Explorer positions are always repositioned and it's main problem. Other problem is also bars positions are always repositioned and have hidden parts with double >. This make me crazy - by this way I cannot work.
