Preventing corruption of diary by writing to a temporary file, and then renaming it to the correct name. This will ensure that IF the writing of the diary is interrupted due to a unexpected shut down of the application, the diary file will not be unrecoverable.

Rachota writes the diaries every 30 seconds, so if a write is interrupted, a minimal, and acceptable (?), amount of information will be lost.

Optimization of the clock

The current implementation does not compensate if a clock cycle takes longer than one second, and does not take into account that ticking listeners consumes time.

With the inclusion of this patch, the clock dispatch a tick ones every second, but ensures that there is never more than one thread ticking the listeners. If a particular cycle takes more than one second to complete, the next cycle is immediately dispatched when the first cycle is complete. This ensures that in the long run, all listeners will be ticked with exactly one time per second .

I have changed the way the dictionary is loaded, and added a fall back dictionary (en_US) just in case the current locale is not supported. The fall back dictionary is also used as a secondary source of translations in case the current locale's translations is missing a key.

I believe this will correct the issue as described in bug 2805642 [1] since it no longer relies on parsing the location on disk to get the resource (dictionary).

This patch should easily apply to the current trunk using a strip-count of one (patch -p1 < patch).
