<div class="markdown_content"><p>Hello,<br/> I noticed that the engine working in the SCID was very slow to reach some decent depth and I made a comparison using in parallel the same engine (Stockfish 12) working on Chessbase13. After about 10 seconds SCID was on depth16 while CB on depth20 after 30 seconds respectively on depth18 and depth24. I also tried to see the configuration setted by default on CB to copy it also on the SCID but I didn't notice any remarkable changes. Can I do something about that? </p></div>

After a closer look onto this function I made some fixes of severe problems. These fixes are tested with valgrind and Scidb (Scidb is reporting wrong frequency counts). Because I do not understand git (highly complicated and user-unfriendly), I've attached a simple source file, only containing the fixed version of this function.</p></div>
