<div class="markdown_content"><p>I notice that the :external keyword can be used along with the (external-access-hook) to allow preconditions to be determined from an external source - however having to manually specify :external on preconditions manually is quite limiting as (quoting from the documentation) 'such expressions must only involve a single logical atom, or a single conjuction of logical atoms'. </p> <p>In my case I would like to use SHOP2 as a planner which interfaces with an external database that stores all existing knowledge of the planning problem - and hence I would like ALL precondition checks to be passed off to my external handler without having to specify :external for every precondition declaration. Is this possible without major modifications to SHOP2?</p></div>
