&lt;p&gt;I am looking for better efficiency and there is a quick optimization of Jaro (about 20% faster), it simply consists in converting String to byte[] before calculating common characters, the getChar() method is slow...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He is the patch.&lt;br /&gt;
